Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) A good way to describe it would be music you’d hear in one of those music game apps with more classical and techno vibes to it though. I call it minimal techno as it fits into that category best.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) My influences would be Chipzel, Lindsey Stirling, Aphex Twin and Basshunter. I don’t really have any influences really, I just do what I want and what sounds good to me.

Q) What are some of your favorite songs off your new EP Genesis?

A) My favorite songs would be “Aurora Trailing” and “Blue Jets and Red Sprites.” They are more upbeat than the other two songs. The other ones are more mellow. I recently did a poll asking my fans which tracks they were most excited for and it’s the same answer as mine. My fans have good taste!

Q) What do you think it is about your new song “Genesis” that listeners are really connecting to?

A) I’m not sure why people are connecting to it the most. It is a real mix of chilling out and getting amped up. Maybe because it can help calm you down and get you hyped up. That’s why I made it the same as the name of the EP, I felt it summarized the EP really well.

Q) How much of a hand do you personally have in the production of your music?

A) It’s all me. I’ve had some offers to put the finishing touches on my music, but if they did can I really call it mine? I like being able to say that I made all the music purely myself.

Q) Will there be videos for all the songs or just certain ones?

A) I got really cool music visualization videos for all the songs. I’m probably not going to do full on music videos, but who knows! I can’t stress how cool the videos are though, they are gold and just so dope.

Q) What can fans expect from a live Aaalyssa DeBoer performance?

A) I have no idea. At this moment, I’m not that confident in my abilities to DJ. That’s probably what I’ll be working on for the rest of the year along with collaborating with some artists and try my hand at writing lyrics again.

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from checking out the EP?

A) I hope they like it. If they don’t like it, I hope they can at least appreciate the music even if it isn’t to their tastes. I hope that it can inspire someone.

Q) The EP will be released on August 27th. How do you plan to celebrate?

A) I’ll probably spend the day with friends celebrating. Maybe have a few drinks.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) There are so many people I would love to collaborate with. Currently, I’m really feeling Twenty-One Pilots. I don’t know how that would go with the two very different genres, but that would be a dream.

Q) What can fans do to help promote your music?

A) Share it with everyone you know! Also, make sure to follow me on social media @aaalyssadeboer on Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter and like my Facebook page.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) These days you can’t get anywhere without some social media presence. It lets you know what your fans think and what they want. If you somehow made it to the point where you have fans without social media, I can’t even understand you. If you don’t even interact with your fans then what’s the point?

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you so much. I can’t do anything without your support. Feel free to send me a message on Instagram, Snapchat, etc. I’d love to talk to you! Every like, download and comment means the absolute world to me.
