“THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE” airs on CBS on MONDAYS at 9:30p.m. ET/PT

Q) What are the current projects that you are working on?

A) I am pretty much working on “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” but auditioning here and there for other things. I am on the show as a regular so I have limitations as to what I can do. I, actually, did a project with a friend that was pilot for a show a couple years ago. It was just a bunch of friends that got together, but they are trying to figure out if they can make something of it now. Mostly, I am just working on my fantastic show.

Q) Please tell us the premise of the show “The New Adventures of Old Christine” and about your character.

A) The premise of the show is a about Julia Louis-Dreyfus playing a woman named Christine who is raising a son while happily divorced. She gets along really well with her ex-husband and he starts dating someone who is also named Christine. That woman is a little younger so they started calling her “New Christine” and Julia becomes “Old Christine.” She puts her kid in private school, after having been in public school for a long time, and she’s a working mother. I play one of two very nasty (sometimes people call them “meanie-moms”) upper class women at the school her son attends. We just sort of torment her. We’re insecure and we know she’s insecure, so I think we’re there to make her feel like she’s not good enough. It works. We make her feel bad.

Q) The show is now in its second season. What is it about the show that continues to draw in viewers?

A) I think anyone who has children or has raised children can relate to how hard it can be sometimes and how many mishaps you can have. Also, anybody who has ever been divorced knows how hard it is to date when you have kids and raise your kids properly. You always doubt what you’re doing. On top of that, I just think it’s really funny. Even if you don’t have kids or aren’t divorced, it’s still a really funny show.

Q) What is your most memorable moment from filming?

A) I think when we first showed up to work we were so awestruck by Julia. I put a Google alert on my computer for her. We were all in the makeup room and I knew Julia was going to be giving a speech later for something. I said to her, “Oh, that’s right! You’re giving a speech tonight.” She asked how I knew that and I told her it was because I have a Google alert on with her name on it. I was really embarrassed because she probably thought I was goofy, but I think she actually really liked it. We’re definitely pretty enamored of her.

Q) Why did you originally want to be a part of the show?

A) I had worked with Kari Lizer before and she’s an incredible gifted writer. She’s an incredibly good person. I loved Julia Louis-Dreyfus and I loved the characters. I also loved the script. I had every reason to do it. It was a dream job! A dream come true!

Q) What changes can viewers expect to see this season?

A) I think it’s probably just going to be getting to know all of these characters a little better. We only had half of a season last year so it’s really fun to watch people having more storylines. We’re getting to know all the characters a little more and I think what we have is working. There are an endless amount of stories so I think we’ll get more character development. I think it’s going great. Every once and a while you’ll see a guest star pop up here and there like Blair Underwood as Ritchie’s fourth grade teacher, Scott Bakula as one Christine’s love interest, AndyRichter is going to come back and Wanda Sykes is going to return as Christine’s best friend. There are no changes, per se. It’s just funny, funny, funny.

Q) What is it like working with Julia Louis-Dreyfus?

A) She’s an incredible woman and she’s hard working. She’s dedicated, funny and smart. She’s generous of spirit. It’s a fantastic job. I’ve never worked with a better group of people.

Q) You teach underprivileged children about jazz. Why is this cause so important to you?

A) I sing in a little jazz group that is part of a school that was started by Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The school was started to expose children to music when they might not be able to be exposed to it. So, it’s a music conservatory. My family has a very strong music background. My father was a conductor and my mother was an opera singer. My sister is a songwriter, as well. I feel very strongly that music should be a part of children’s lives from a really early age because it helps them all the way through their lives with everything. I would hate to see music disappear. It’s already going down that path. Anything you can do to keep kids interested and keep it in their lives is really important.

Q) What do you do in your spare time?

A) I raise two children and that takes up a good amount of time. I do a lot of knitting and that makes me very happy. I am a very big crafty person. I volunteer at my daughters’ school and I play a lot of tennis, as well. I spend time with my family, my husband and my friends.

Q) What would you like to say to all of your fans and supporters?

A) I am thrilled to have fans, if I do. That’s fantastic! Thank you for watching the show and for supporting me. Thank you for giving me a career that will, hopefully, last another twenty years. Tune in Monday nights at 9:30pm on CBS to watch “The New Adventures of Old Christine.”
