Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I would say that I have been developing my sound over the years and I finally found a sound that is “me” and that I love. I would describe it as pop with an urban twist.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) My music influences over the years have been Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Lana Del Rey. They all have different sounds, but are all so bold, which I really respect in an artist.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “I Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love.”

A) “I Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love” was inspired by a boy and a girlfriend and the best friend of the girlfriend. The boy is a real player who cheats on his girlfriend with her best friend, but the girl really wants to fight for their love anyway.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) “I Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love” is a real life scenario that many people go through. I wanted my fans to know that this happens to many people and they are not alone.

Q) How does the video play into the message of the song?

A) The video is a snapshot of the situation mixed with beautiful locations, like the desert. I chose the desert because I felt like it represented something deserted, which is how the girl feels in the song.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) My song writing process is always different. Sometimes I write the lyrics first and other times the music comes first. Usually, one inspires the other for the whole song to come together. It’s a very mixed and emotional process for me. So whatever I’m feeling at that time is what happens.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I am very hands on in the production process. I’m very particular and decisive so I always need to be involved with the production of the music and the song.

Q) What can fans expect from a live Ashley Brinton performance?

A) Fans can expect to feel inspiration and a sense of unity when they see my performances. I want to make sure my fans know they are not alone and that I am here to support them for anything. There are a lot of positive vibes at my performances.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I love to go back to my roots so I love to go back to my hometown to perform. It reminds me of where I’ve started and how far I’ve come so it holds a really special place for me. I get so much inspiration when I perform back home.

Q) You’ll soon be releasing new EP In Blossom. Where did the name come from?

A) I’m still growing as an artist, but I feel like I have come a long way over the years, so I’ve blossomed; personally and professionally. So, In Blossom just made sense.

Q) How do you plan to celebrate the EP release?

A) I’m so excited for the EP to be released. I’m celebrating with all of the ice cream I can and some relaxation time with my dogs.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I would love to collaborate with The Weeknd. I have loved him for so long. He is just so talented and real. I would be honored to work with him.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I’m really into the new Katy Perry album right now. She took a huge and bold risk, which I really respect and her new sound and image is awesome. I like how she stays true to herself on this album. I find it very inspiring.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) I love connecting with my fans on a daily basis. It’s so important for me to interact with them and keep them updated on what I’m doing and I like to know what they are doing as well. It’s an amazing way to stay connected.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you so much for all the support. I love you and appreciate you guys so much. I would not be here without you so thank you for giving me the opportunity to do what I love. Your support means everything to me.
