Betrayal leads to danger for Vincent (Jay Ryan) on the “Beauty and The Beast” episode Beast of Times, Worst of Times. Vincent’s mind is preoccupied with beast bounty hunters and hitmen after him that even when he’s in the shower, he is on the attack. But it’s his wife, not someone who wants to plug him while he’s cleaning up. Vincent’s response was definitely a way to kill shower romance between he and Catherine (Kristin Kreuk). Well, actually not. However, shower sex is not a good idea when you’re sharing a bathroom and other people are waiting to use it.

It’s getting to be a full house (minus DJ and Stephanie) at JT’s with Cat, Vincent, Tess and Heather all taking up temporary residence in order to hide out after last week’s sniper attack. JT (Austin Basis) is looking for his slippers and Tess (Nina Lisandrello) is even wearing one of JT’s shirts (which is really Vincent’s that he just let JT borrow). Hey Cat, I’m your best friend in the whole world and I have your husband’s shirt on! Catherine suggests that Heather (Nicole Anderson) spend a few days with Kyle (Michael Roarke). Danger aside, how cool is it when your big sister encourages you to have a sleep over with your boyfriend?

The gang hears a report from Channel 10 news anchor Grace Rose (Melissa Tang) about a super solider program in the military. It seems that DHS was doing a cover-up of this program and Cat and Vincent realize that they would need to do something to kill the story.

They meet with Deputy Secretary Hill (Andrew Stewart-Jones) who tells them that one of the snipers that had attacked them had a connection to Vincent’s former Commanding Officer when he was in Afghanistan, Colonel Fuller (James McGowan). Vincent remembered how close he had been to Fuller before the commanding officer tried to kill him and other members of the squad. However, Vincent was still skeptical about Deputy Secretary Hill’s information. Vincent reasoned that after all these years, why had Fuller laid low until now? But Deputy Secretary Hill is adamant that his information is accurate and Colonel Fuller is a threat.

Deputy Secretary Hill explains to Cat and Vincent that there was a way to get the goods on Colonel Fuller. They needed to get the information about the super soldier program from Fuller’s military base computer. But as an agent of DHS, there is no way Hill can do it without arousing suspicion.

Vincent didn’t like Catherine’s idea that he sneak onto his old military base. He could then use the computer device that Deputy Secretary Hill gives them to scan the information off Colonel Fuller’s computer, giving them the evidence they need to prove Fuller’s guilt. In addition to Vincent not being too keen on the plan, they also had to contend with Grace Rose tailing them to get her story. But beast ability does come in handy as Vincent manages to slow down Rose’s news van.

Meanwhile, JT tells Tess that Cat asked him to gain access to the military base’s computer surveillance system. He is successful and gets a long hug from Tess. The phone rings and Tess answers for ‘Dr. Forbes’ office.’ It is a prestigious biotech company that is interested in interviewing JT. A suspicious Tess accompanies him to the location of the interview where she sits at a background table. She tells JT that if the interviewer turns out to be someone who’s after Vincent, she has his back. An attractive woman, Dr. Panetti (Natalie Krill) arrives to interview JT. She praises JT on his scholarly papers and research and appears to be a Forbes groupie. JT practically gushes while Tess rolls her eyes. The green-eyed monster?

Using the alias Captain Chandler (I don’t know if using your wife’s maiden name is the ideal alias), Vincent enters the military base while Cat is questioned by two DHS agents, Murphy (Raoul Bhaneja) and Trahn (Dwain Murphy) about her husband’s involvement with DHS. Cat insists that her husband is just a doctor with no involvement with DHS. However, the agents explain that Deputy Secretary Hill told them that Dr. Keller was a former war veteran suffering from PSTD and could be a dangerous terrorist. It is then that Cat realizes that Hill set them up and that the recording device he gave Vincent was actually a bomb.

Vincent finds Colonel Fuller at the military base and accuses him of trying to kill him. Fuller insists that Vincent has it all wrong, he only ever wanted to practice him. Vincent puts the recording device on the mainframe of Fuller’s computer, but realizes before it explodes that it is a bomb.

When news of the explosion reaches DHS offices, Cat pleads Vincent’s case. She explains that her husband was set up by Deputy Secretary Hill who gave him the bomb that they believed was a recording device. She needs to warn her husband about Hill, who will more than likely try to kill Vincent. But the agents are more interested in taking her into headquarters for questioning.

Heather hears news of the explosion at the military base and apologizes to Kyle that she can’t go away with him after all. And Tess drags JT out of his interview where he leaves Dr. Panetti with the check. At the apartment, JT brushes off Tess’ comment about the fake interview with a snarky “jealousy, thy name is Tess.” But they have more important things to take care of, namely helping Vincent.

Vincent comes searching for Catherine, but runs into Deputy Secretary Hill instead. Hill uses a tranquilizer gun to knock Vincent out. He then takes him to a location that is used to question suspected terrorists. Hill reveals that he was behind the attempts on Vincent’s life to put an end to beast speculation once and for all. Hill discloses his plan for him to kill Vincent in self-defense after Vincent “beasts out.” To help the process along, Hill will shoot Vincent up with synthesized adrenaline.

Cat gets the upper hand from the DHS agents and rushes off to save Vincent. She calls JT and Tess for help in tracking Vincent’s location. “Do you need backup?” Tess asks. “I think I already brought my own,” Cat answers as she’s followed by police cars.

Meanwhile, Vincent warns Hill that he doesn’t know what he’s getting himself into. If Hill injects him with the adrenaline, Vincent warns he’ll become something he can’t control. However, the plea falls on deaf ears. Hill injects Vincent, who hulks out. Catherine arrives just in time to see a beast Vincent holding Hill by the throat. And to Cat’s horror, Vincent snaps Hill’s neck! He then runs out as police storm the place.

Later, Heather packs food for Cat to bring with her as she goes to find Vincent, as he is officially a person of interest for murder. JT gives Cat a tranquilizer gun just in case in takes a while for Vincent to come down from the adrenaline injection. Cat calls Tess at the police department and asks her to divert the cops’ direction in the search for Vincent from the route she’s taking to meet him. Tess warns that if Cat is caught, she could be charged as an accessory. But Cat refuses not to be there for her husband.

As she walks to her car Cat hugs Heather, but promises it’s not goodbye forever. Grace Rose approaches wanting a story and not taking Cat’s “no comment” for an answer. Heather’s quick thinking delays Grace Rose from following Cat as she uses a banana (which was part of the food she packed for Cat) to stall Grace Rose’s car.

Cat finds Vincent and he changes back to normal. She comforts him about killing Deputy Secretary Hill, reminding him that it wasn’t his fault. Unfortunately, Cat and Vincent are now on the run.
