Episode five Fancy Meeting You Here opens in a local Laundromat where Luke (Jonathan Whitesell) is showing Holden (Burkely Duffield) how to sort his clothes before washing. They are waiting on a washer to open up. Holden looks over at a woman folding her bra he points out to Luke that he never knew bras were so complicated. A washer opens up and Luke rushes over with a bag of Holden’s clothes. He starts to take out a jacket, but stops when he sees blood on it. Luke asks Holden to get a bottle of stain remover. Luke, trying not to ask too many questions, says he never has had the honor of cleaning up blood before. Holden reminds him that he just fell off his bike and he shouldn’t worry. Holden looks up into a mirror and sees the reflection of Arthur walking into the laundry mat. Holden turns around and looks, but Arthur is not in the Laundromat. Worried that his repressed memories are coming back he asks Luke if he could go to a college class with him to keep his mind preoccupied. Luke seems happy to spend time with Holden and says “sure.”

In a casino in Monte Carlo an attractive mid twenty’s woman with blonde hair and a black leather jacket strolls about the card tables looking for something. She spots a table and walks over to it. She steps behind a man playing the table and asks “Are you allergic to money?” She explains to the man that dealer has twenty while his cards are at seventeen so it would be sad to see him lose. The man points out that he has 40K on the table and doesn’t want to lose it. She sweet talks him into drawing one more card and to his delight it makes 21! He asks how did she know that was going to happen and she says, “That’s easy. I was in a four year coma.”

Back at Arthur’s place the nurse, Daniel, (Patrick Sabongui) on hand is teaching Willa (Dilan Gwyn) how to take of Arthur. As Willa is changing some medical stuff out, she talks to Arthur (Alex Diakun). She mentions times when she was little and they would be at parties together. She recalls the good time they had together and asks him to wake up so that they could do all those things again. Daniel calls Willa off to the side to tell her that Arthur needs Holden there to wake up and the Holden needs Arthur to remember. The nurse questions Willa about why it’s taking so long. Willa says that she still working on it!

Luke and Holden are attending a college class together. Luke along with most of the class is half dead as they sit through the lecture. Holden, on the other hand, has eyes as big as Jupiter as he is sitting on the edge of his seat listening to the professor. Drawing more attention to himself, Holden raises his hand to ask a question. Luke sinks a little in his seat. Holden asks the professor about the meanings of some dreams he’s had and the professor answers as Holden eagerly jots down a handful of notes. Luke leans over to his brother and whispers “Teachers pet” in his ear.

It’s late at night and Willa is still by Arthur’s side. Daniel walks in and does his usual inspection of things and leaves to go get him and Willa a cup of coffee. As he leaves, Willa jumps up and heads over to get a few medical tools. She grabs some equipment with sharp points and heads to a dresser in the room. Willa opens it to find a safe; she starts to pick the lock. Willa hears a click and opens the safe. She looks back to make sure no one is watching and she reaches in a pulls something out and puts it in her bag.

Back in Monte Carlo the blonde girl and the man she helped at the table are being escorted upstairs by security. The owner of the casino meets them and the blonde girl introduces herself as Charlie (Eden Brolin). The owner accuses Charlie of counting cards. Charlie, seemingly offended by the fact that she is accused of counting cards, explains to the casino owner that she actually just sees equations and patterns in things and that’s how she was able to win so much. One of the security guards is holding up a gun. Charlie looks at the gun and states that it is empty based on the way the man is holding it. The casino owner grabs the gun and points it at Charlie. He asks if she’d bet her life on it. Done with this, Charlie grabs the man’s hand and bites him. She then engages the rest of the security guards.

Back at college, Holden and Luke are walking through the hallway and Holden is happily pointing out how no one is telling him what to do. As they walk farther down the hall, Holden sees Jamie and says greets her. Jamie (Emilija Baranac) is shocked and quickly looks away. Holden is confused and looks to Luke for answers. He tells Holden that she did that because he stood her up on a date. Holden, having been inspired by something the professor said, puts on a confidant face and rushes out side to catch Jamie to ask her back out. As Holden comes up behind Jamie, she doesn’t look pleased. Holden follows along trying to come up with every excuse he has on why he missed their date, but none seem to be working. Holden tells her that if they go back out on another date and it isn’t the best time she’s had they never have to see each other again. Jamie, reluctantly, turns around and agrees. Jamie walks off and Holden stand there in disbelief that he actually pulled it off and got a date.

Charlie appears to be in basement as she walks toward an elevator. She has a bloody nose, but apparently fought her way free from the guards. She gets in the elevator, but as the door starts to close a woman’s hand comes up and stops it. It’s Tess Shoemacher (Erika Alexander). She tells Charlie that they need to talk.

Later that night in an exclusive looking bar Holden is holding a flower and waiting for Jamie. Luke comes up (he is also there with his girlfriend) and he tells Holden to take a breath and not to worry Jamie’s coming. As Luke puts the flower in Holden’s shirt pocket he spots Jamie walking up to the bar. As the night continues, the double date seems to be going fairly well.

Willa is now back at her place. She pulls out the item she took from Arthur’s safe; it’s a small collection of notebooks. She begins to read them. In the notebooks are writing, pictures and drawings. She comes across picture of a thirty something woman. She looks at the picture for a moment as if remembering a face then she sets it aside. She sees that there are some recordings with the notebooks. She starts to play them. The recordings contain old research videos of patients describing the Realm. One of the videos included Arthur talking about a machine that could transfer a person’s mind to the Realm. In the video, Arthur mentions the name Dr. Frost. Willa is shocked to find that Arthur and Frost were working together to send people to the realm.

At the bar, Holden and Jamie are watching someone do very bad karaoke. Holden is handed the songbook for karaoke and told to choose a song, but he turns down the offer. Jamie says that because Holden stood her up that he now has to make it up by doing karaoke. Holden agrees and helps pick a song, picking a duet. On the stage, Holden and Jamie do a horrible rendition of “I Try” by Macy Gray. As Holden is enjoying himself, he begins to have more flashbacks to the Realm. In a panic, Holden darts out of the bar and into the street – not far behind is Jamie coming to see if he’s is ok. She tries to comfort him, but soon realizes that what they were trying to be isn’t going to happen. She kisses him and leaves Holden standing alone in the street (there probably won’t be another date). Holden stands there, as he can’t believe he just let a catch like Jamie go again. Out of nowhere a car hits him and Holden is shot into the Realm again. Holden is now in what appears to be ruins of an ancient stone temple. Behind Holden he hears a growl and is suddenly attacked by wolf! The wolf bites down on his arm as Holden falls to the ground. With a sudden yelp, the wolf falls off Holden. Willa is now standing over him and helps him up. She tells him that he needs to go with her to the inside of the temple as they’ll be safe there. As they are about to run off, he hears more growls behind him. Holden punches the ground and sends three wolfs flying through the air. He is then woken up by a man seeing if he is ok after being hit by a car. Holden doesn’t seem to even notice that as he has been hit by a car, but he does know how he and Willa met. Holden starts to run off to Willa’s place.

Charlie and Tess are now at an underground boxing match. Charlie watches for a second and places a bet on one of the fighters. Tess explains that they need Charlie to help gain Holden’s trust. Charlie seems skeptical about the whole plan. Tess tells Charlie that Arthur got to Holden first, this seems to change Charlie’s mind.

Holden is now in a cab on his way to see Willa. He is now remembering memories of the Realm much easier now. He thinks back to after he fights off the wolves. He and Willa are now inside of the temple away from harm and Willa tells him that the place is a safe haven. She helps clean Holden’s wounds.

Willa is in her place still watching the research videos when she hears a knock on the door. She opens the door to find Holden. Holden looks at her for a second and goes in for a kiss. She looks up at him as says, “You remember!” Holden and Willa get more passionate while kissing up until Holden sees the paused video of Arthur. Holden points out that he’s seen him before. He asks Willa who he is and she tells him that Arthur actually trained him in the Realm. Holden, already forgetting about Willa, asks if he can go visit him. Willa agrees to take him.

At Arthurs place Willa leads Holden into his room. They find him still hooked up to medical equipment and in a coma. Daniel walks in and is shocked to see Holden there. Willa lets Holden know that to help Arthur he has to go back into the Realm. Holden, not liking the idea that he is going back into a coma, starts to back out until Willa tells him there’s another way in.

Charlie is in a bar siting by herself researching all the news that is available on Holden. While doing that she is also buying and selling stock. She manages to sell her way up to over a million dollars. She now has money to use while visiting Holden.

Willa is leading Holden to a locked room in Arthur’s house where they find the machine that will send him back to the Realm.   Holden starts to see himself on a long ice bridge with a light at the end. Willa walks up behind him just as the ice under their feet starts to fall away. Willa falls off as Holden reaches to save her. He’s now back in the room with the machine and he starts to smash all the monitors and breaks the machine into pieces. Willa is stunned and tries to stop him from breaking the only way back to Arthur. He tells her that he almost lost her and he can’t let that happen again, but Willa fears that she just lost Arthur.
