Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) A mix of late 90’s/early 2000’s pop punk and modern alternative rock.

Q) How does “Echoes of the Past” differ from “The Nights That Made It,” in terms of style and influence?

A) Andrew and Jason wrote “The Nights That Made It” and “Echoes of the Past” was written by all four members. Brandon and Perry come from diverse musical backgrounds, which played a major role in influencing the sound of the new EP. There was no shortage of ideas to work with and bounce off each other, which has helped the band grow musically.

Q) Which song from the new EP, Echoes of the Past, are you most excited about fans hearing?

A) I think we’re all collectively excited for fans to hear the song “One More Night.” It was the first song we wrote where all four of us were involved from the very beginning of the writing process and for that reason it’s a significant song on the EP. It also features a lot more synth and vocal effects than we’ve used in the past and we used those ideas to bring out the best in the song.

Q) Your sound has matured in the past couple of years. What are your biggest musical influences?

A) The biggest influences for our band are blink-182, Angels & Airwaves, All Time Low, Sum 41 and Simple Plan just to name a bunch. All of our favorite bands have been able to grow and evolve musically over time and we want to be able to do that as well. We looked to some new places for inspiration when writing and recording this EP with found it in bands such as PVRIS and Linkin Park.

Q) Echoes of the Past includes an acoustic cut of “Too Bad You’re Lying.” What inspired you to release a stripped version of the song?

A) After the first EP, we parted ways with our singer and we wanted to include an acoustic version of an old song so Brandon could sing on it and bring everything full circle. Also, the guitar solo in the bridge of the acoustic version was the original solo from an old demo of “Too Bad You’re Lying” that we always loved and we thought this would be a cool way to bring it back.

Q) Are any of the songs on Echoes of the Past attached to any particularly resonant memories?

A) Each song contains lyrics pertaining to a situation at least one of us has gone through at one point or another in time, whether it’s heartbreak, regret, or just wishful thinking about a certain scenario in hindsight.

Q) What can you tell us about your writing process?

A) It usually starts when one of us has an idea for a section of the song and then we will build around that idea. Each song varies in terms of how it is written. Sometimes the lyrics come before the music and, in other cases, it’s the exact opposite.

Q) Who are some of your favorite artists that you are listening to right now?

Perry: Good Tiger, Rolo Tomassi, and a local band called Øff Guard

Jason: I go in phases of which of my favorite bands I’m into at any given moment, but recently I find myself listening to a lot of Panic! At The Disco and Linkin Park.

Andrew: Panic! At The Disco and Race The Sun. Race The Sun was one of the first bands I ever got into.

Brandon:  In Her Own Words, Too Close to Touch, Dance Gavin Dance, and Pianos Become the Teech.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform?

A) The Revolution Bar in Amityville on Long Island and Gold Sounds in Brooklyn.

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from listening to this new EP?

A) We hope listeners appreciate our desire to stick to our signature sound while also experimenting with new ideas and styles with regard to our songwriting.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, Travis Barker, Matt Skiba, Alex Gaskarth, Jeremy McKinnon, Lynn Gunn, Billie Joe Armstrong, Hayley Williams, and/or Deryck Whibley.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your music?

A) We would like to thank everyone for supporting us over the years, whether it’s coming to the shows, interacting with us online, or buying and listening to our music. There is a lot more to come and we’re glad you’re all actively engaged and hope you keep on sharing our music with the world!
