Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) It’s a perfect blend of R&B and pop music. My music brings out emotion and definitely makes you feel things.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) My musical influences are Rihanna, Lana Del Rey, Jhene Aiko, Amy Winehouse and Aaliyah.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Lullaby.”

A) “Lullaby” is about ending a relationship, but somehow still being connected to the person. It may not be for the best reasons, but you can’t seem to shake them. When you reconnect it’s like reliving the best memories, but the next day you pretend it never happened.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I feel like this song relates to so many people because I think we all go through this in some aspect. It speaks to a lot of people because many can’t admit it to themselves or even want to tell their friends. This song tells it for you and helps you understand what’s really going on. It helps you understand that these are just temporary feelings.

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from your upcoming EP Honeyed Words?

A) I hope that people can take back strength and accept the change that may be going on in their lives.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I don’t really need music before I create lyrics. I keep a journal and write almost every day. I take the most influential and emotional entries to be reworked as songs or poems. I’ll also just write poems off the top of my head. After that me and my team (Elliot James and Nick Wells) will rework them into songs. With the EP, Elliot was on the guitar figuring out how the song melody should go. Nick was figuring out the vocal melodies. Elliot would play random notes until something fit. We’d talk about the journal and work the lyrics into the guitar.

Q) How much of your hands do you have in the production of your music?

A) I’d say I contribute a lot. I co-wrote my EP with Elliot and Nick. Without them I would be lost in how to create such beautiful work. They taught me so much to where I am able to contribute more and more.

Q) What can fans expect from a live Brie Angellina performance?

A) Fans can expect it to be personal, inviting and fun.

Q) What songs off Honeyed Words are you looking forward to performing live?

A) I’m looking forward to performing “That Bad” live and “Shots” live. Those songs are so hyped up so I can’t wait to have that energy on stage.

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from listening to the EP as a whole?

A) I hope they take away that it’s ok to be your true self. You shouldn’t feel the need to lower yourself for someone else’s comfort. You have to do you and whatever makes you most comfortable. It’s okay to feel things that you normally don’t feel, like strong emotion. What you have to do is take that, whatever you’re going through, learn from it

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I would really like to collab with Rihanna in the future. I think DJ Khaled is super talented so it would be cool to work with him. I’m also down to collab with Gucci Mane or Drake.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I have been none stop listening to ctrl by SZA since it came out. It’s really something special. She said everything I wanted to say in her album. Every song speaks to how I’ve been feeling.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) It’s so important because it allows me to connect with people all over the world. It has helped me create strong connections with people who I would never know without social media. It allows us all to get closer and grow a bigger fanbase. I like being able to communicate with my fans this way.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I’d like to say just thank you for sticking by me for these past couple of years. Some people have known me since before I even started putting covers up and to have them still with me today is amazing. They are family.
