Brooke – America’s Next Top Model

By  |

Q) Who is your favorite designer?

A) I really wouldn’t say I have a specific favorite because I tend to go with things I like. I do like BCBG a lot. I do wear a lot of their dresses. I don’t know exactly why I like them, but I do like the designer a lot.

Q) Why did you decide to apply for the show?

A) I’ve watched the show from the very first season and I’ve always wanted to pursue modeling. We had a local audition in my home town so I thought, “Why not try? You never know what could happen.”

Q) Why do you think the judges chose Jade over you?

A) I just think that maybe they felt that she had more to give in this competition than I did. The judges do what they do and know what is best. I was okay with it and already had an idea that it was my time to go.

Q) Do you think your shy and reserved personality hindered you in the competition?

A) At times, it did hinder me a bit, just because I didn’t allow myself to just go out and not care so much what everyone thought of me. I worried so much what the girls were thinking of me, what the judges were thinking of me and I wanted to do well. I just put so much pressure on me to excel that it kind of became more of a limitation.

Q) Did you write anyone a note when you left and if so, to whom and what did you say?

A) I wrote a couple notes. I wrote one to Danielle because I really felt like she had so much going for her. I really feel like she’s going to go all the way. She also gave me a lot of encouragement on the show. I really appreciate that from her. I also left one for Sarah because I started becoming really close with her on the show.

Q) After the show, did you clear the air with Nnenna?

A) We actually apologized that night. I told her I was sorry for everything. After that night, there was no more conflict between us. We settled it then and there.

Q) Was it hard to take what Deprice said with a grain of salt?

A) It was sometimes. It is kind of hard to hear criticisms about yourself. At the same time, you do know it is constructive criticism and they are not just trying to tell you these things to put you down. They are just trying to help you. So, sometimes it got a little hard, but for the most part, it was constructive.

Q) What was the most difficult aspect of the doll photo shoot?

A) The most difficult part for me was, first, that I was in a box and felt really limited in what I could do and what poses I could do. I felt that was sort of difficult for me. Also, I hadn’t played with a Barbie in so long and so, I couldn’t remember if they smiled or not. For the life of me, I just couldn’t remember what their poses were. I was a Glamour doll and I couldn’t really see a doll doing things in front of her naked boyfriend. I didn’t quite get the direction in that and wasn’t sure how to pose.

Q) Why do you think that you had such a hard time at the photo shoots?

A) I think that I had the most difficult time because I became really anxious and nervous about performing well. Then, when I took a picture I would over analyze it and thought I could have done much better. I just continually let it get to me.

Q) How did it feel knowing that the judges thought you had some magic in you?

A) I am really thankful that they thought that. It gives me such encouragement to pursue modeling knowing that they think that. It’s nice to know that people believe in you. I just think that maybe I need a little more time to come out of myself, and my shell, to have the confidence to do well in modeling. I think that my being on the air with the show has helped me a lot.

Q) What are you going to do now that you are no longer on the show?

A) I am going to still pursue modeling. I can’t wait to be able to start working!

Q) What did you learn about modeling from the show?

A) I learned that modeling isn’t as easy as it seems to be. It takes a lot to become a good model. I did learn that!

Q) Who do you think will win “America’s Next Top Model” this season?

A) I am hoping Danielle! I think she has what it takes. She’s a beautiful person inside and out. I wish her luck because she really has what it takes.

Q) Who do you stay in touch with from the show?

A) I have been in touch with Leslie the most. We talk quite often. She’s just a really good friend of mine.

Q) What was your most memorable moment from being on the show?

A) I would have to say everything. The whole experience was memorable. I couldn’t have asked for more! I got to stay with a great group of girls and Tyra, herself, gave me a great opportunity. Everybody who participated, including the cameramen and sound guys, were amazing.

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A) Thank you to everyone who supported me and believed in me that I could do well. I really appreciated it because it made this experience much easier knowing that there were people out there supporting me.
