Camille Anderson – Breaking Through

By  |

Q) What are some of the current projects that you are working on?

A) I am very busy promoting the movie The Wedding Crashers, I did the cover of Stuff Magazine, which is out right now and I am flying around everywhere. We were in New York for the premiere and then San Diego for Comic Con and next is Las Vegas and then Chicago. I’m just traveling around now!

Q) You are in the movie The Wedding Crashers. Please tell us about the premise of the film and your character.

A) Basically, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson are players and they want meet chicks and get free booze. They want to hang out, party and have a good time and they think, what better way than by crashing weddings! They pretend like they are part of the family and they even have different tools that they use such as fake purple hearts and they bring Visine so people think they are crying. They are pretty tricky about it! Once they crash weddings for a while they realize maybe there is more to life and they end up meeting their match with two girls that they meet at a particular wedding. All of the weddings have a different theme, like there is a Hindu wedding and a Jewish wedding, etc. I’m in the Jewish wedding as a guest. I’m watching the wedding and I look over and I see Owen Wilson’s character crying. I am just so taken by this, but really he’s been using Visine and it is one of his tricks! He woos me at the wedding and we meet at the reception. He even sends a little flower girl to ask me if I want to dance with him. He pulls all the tricks out! We have all of our scenes at this one particular wedding.

Q) What was it like working with Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn?

A) It’s so much fun! I was so excited when I got the call that I had the part! I shot for a week and a half and spending that amount of time working with Owen and Vince, they are just such great actors. Their comedic timing is so perfect and it was just a great learning experience to be on set and watchthem and interact with them. I learned so much and they are both really sweet.

Q) You grew up studying dance. Did it help you with your dance scene in The Wedding Crashers?

A) I don’t know. We had to have this big choreographed dancing scene and it involved lots of spinning. I had to get this spin right because the spin morphed into another scene. I had to spin perfectly and do all of the steps, but the heels that I was wearing wouldn’t stay on my feet. Every time I spun, they’d half way fall off. It was hard to spin in heels, I have to admit!

Q) With the plot of the film being two men crashing weddings to meet women, do you feel this is a good way to find true love?

A) Why not? I think that you can find your true love anywhere and probably where you least expect it. Yeah, I think if you want to meet girls and girls want to meet guys, the bottom line is you have to get out there. This is one way to get out there!

Q) You have been the guest host of “E! Wild On!” How did you hear about this position and why did you want to be a part of this program?

A) I did one show and I did “Wild On! Sunset Strip”. I love “Wild On!” and I love TV hosting. It was local, so I didn’t get to travel to a cool location, but it was a ton of fun! It was basically interviewing drunk people, the easiest people to interview. It was fun and I think “Wild On!” is awesome because you get to travel and I love to travel. I think they are actually bringing the show back. I think Tara Reid is hosting it now, but it should be interesting to watch!

Q) Why did you decide to become an actress?

A) It was something that I’ve always wanted to do. I just love performing and I love being creative. I don’t like sitting in an office so it all made sense! I went to college first and that was really important to have my education behind me. I just started going on auditions and I wanted to see what would happen and how I felt about it because it is a career that you need to dedicate all of your time to it. I started working and I found that I loved it. My motto is that if you love what you’re doing with your job and it doesn’t even seem like a job then you must be doing the right thing. I just have a blast with it!

Q) What has been your favorite project to work on and why was it your favorite?

A) My favorite project to work on is definitely The Wedding Crashers. It’s the best part I’ve ever had and the director was awesome, David Dobkin. He was so nice on set and he was just so excited about the movie. He was really creative and he let people improv if they wanted to. It was just overall a really positive experience and it is something I’m so excited to be involved in

Q) You appear on a Bench Warmer Trading Card. How does this make you feel?

A) I have like fifteen Bench Warmer cards! Brian Wallace, who is the President, is a friend of mine. He’s really sweet and he works really hard. He’s always believed in his trading cards. I think they are really cute and so much fun. I think it’s really cool to have a trading card. It’s so funny! Every now and then they come up on EBay. I think it’s a ton of fun!

Q) What was your mission when you were the spokesperson for Xbox?

A) That was a year ago and I am no longer their spokesperson. It was a ton of fun because I’d go around to different cities and do signings whenever they had a new game come out. I would have to promote it and it was just basically traveling around, doing signings and taking pictures with people. I loved it! I think gamers are so enthusiastic in general. I was just at Comic Con for a signing for Stuff Magazine and that whole industry, everyone is very passionate. It was a ton of fun and who doesn’t like Xbox?

Q) You were recently on the cover of Stuff Magazine with several other young women. What was it like getting to be on the front of such a prestigious magazine?

A) I was so excited! When I first heard it would possibly happened, I called my publicist and was asking him questions every minute! It just sounded like such a cool opportunity and I really wanted it to work out. With six girls, it is hard to get a big group like that together. So, I was really really hoping that everything worked out and it did! Everyone got together and the shoot was awesome. I’ve become pretty good friends with a few of the girls and we all travel around now. I was just so excited.

Q) What do you do in your spare time?

A) I love being on the computer and also I love to hike and get outdoors. Anything outdoors is a ton of fun. I love to have dinner with friends. Los Angeles has a ton of great restaurants and I always love to catch up with friends. I stay active and stay busy.

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A) I want to say thank you, first of all. All of the advice I get and all of the emails I get through my website are all so positive. Everyone is so nice! The emails in saying we loved you in this and you did a great job with this and this looks great. The comment feedbacks are just so positive and I really appreciate all of the positive energy. You can’t get anywhere with out fans and supporters because they really help propel you along and help to get you out there. I am really really thankful for them!
