Camille Guaty – Scorpion

Q) What are some of the recent projects that you have been working?

A) I just finished shooting, The Wedding Invitation, a movie with all female leads and an all women crew! Quit impressive. Also, the movie Cake, starring Jennifer Aniston will be out in January. She may win an Oscar…could you imagine??!!

Q) What you can you tease about your upcoming story arc on the show “Scorpion?”

A) Well, unfortunately, I can’t tease what I don’t know yet! But I can say that I will be around for awhile or at least until Walter (my brother) finds a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.

Q) Is there anything that you have added to the role that may not necessarily have been scripted?

A) My character, Megan,  has been suffering with M.S. since she childhood.  So, I had asked the producers if they wanted me to show any signs.  The use of the arm braces were as far as they wanted to go.  After researching the symptoms I realized there were a few things that I could play with, that would help make this disease feel more realistic and honest for me.  I played with numbness and weakness on the left side of my body, both arm and leg. I would make myself feel labored and fatigued during scenes. I also added a slight unsteady gate when I walked.  I’ve been really trying to show an authentic representation of where my character is at with this disease. So far the producers are great with it.

Q) What have you taken away from your experience working on this project?

A) I’ve never played someone with an illness before. I realize there is great importance in an honest portrayal of M.S. and that my character is also building awareness for this disease.  I am so grateful to be given a role like this. I feel like Megan is the heart amongst all the super brains!

Q) You play Walter’s sister Megan, was the chemistry with Elyes Gabel who plays him instant or did that take time to develop?

A) I’m kind of an easy person to get along with.  My parents always used to say I was a social butterfly by the age of two! So, yes, it was instant. It was pretty much like that with the whole cast.

Q) What have been some of your most memorable moments from filming so far?

A) I seriously love this cast!! I feel like the most memorable moments are when we are all shooting.  We work hard, so when they yell cut, we make the most of it!  Kat [McPhee] and I work out on the beach during breaks, Ari [Stidham] and I have a secret game we play, but I think it’s to soon to disclose what that is yet! Eddie [Kaye Thomas] and I have some pretty great banter! He also likes to read books to us with a British accent on our downtime! Elyse and I are just goofy together! I miss them when I’m not there. A little birdie told me they miss me, too.

Q) What makes CBS network such a great fit for the show?

A) It’s a heart warming procedural and I feel like CBS does that the best, after all they are the number one network!

Q) You’re a part of social media, how is it for you getting to interact with fans and getting their instant feedback on episodes?

A) Great! The fans have been super supportive of my choices for Megan and I welcome comments and criticism. As I said before, I really want to depict an honest portrayal of a person with M.S.

Q) Since the holidays are coming up, what are some of the things you are most looking forward to?

A) Reading a book!!

Q) Is there anything you would like to say to your fans and supporters?

A) Thank you so much for supporting me in this crazy roller coaster ride!! I am so grateful to you all!!! Thank you!!
