Christian Serrato – A Class Act

By  |

Q) What are some of the most recent projects you are working on?

A) Right now, I’m working on Nickelodeon’s “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide” and also trying to get my singing career going so I am working in the studio for my album.

Q) You are a regular on the show “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.” Please tell us a little bit about your character.

A) My character is Suzie Crabgrass who is the popular overachiever cheerleader who gets competitive when it comes to academics and sports. She is Mosely’s rival on the show and Ned had a crush on her. My character was somewhat bratty in the first season, but now she is more like misunderstood.

Q) What is a typical day like for you when you are filming “Ned’s Declassified?”

A) There’s not a lot of pressure on that set because we like to have fun and keep it cool. It’s really just waking up very early, going to set, getting our hair and makeup done, doing scenes and then you go home all tired.

Q) What made you want to be a part of this show?

A) My mom started off in acting so I wanted to go along with her. I just got into modeling first when I was 7 years old and around age 8 I got into acting and commercial work and stuff like that with small roles on “Drew Carey” and “Coach.”

Q) Why did you decide to get into acting?

A) My mom was doing acting when she was younger and I wanted to follow in her footsteps.

Q) You starred on Mrs. Marshall with Mercedes Reuhl. Who would you most like to work with in the future and why them?

A) I would love to work with Johnny Depp. He’s an awesome actor and Angelina Jolie; I love her, she’s awesome.

Q) Do you have any advice for up and coming actors/actresses?

A) Be patient. You’re going to go out for a lot of stuff so you kind of have to work at it and hope for the best.

Q) On your show, Ned hands out survival tips. Are there any tips for kids in school that you would give, which were not mentioned on the show?

A) Concentrate on your academics. Just have fun and stay away from boys!

Q) What is it like working with a group of actors around your own age?

A) It’s great because it is 24/7 absolute fun. We all have different personalities, but they mesh really well.

Q) You have a reoccurring role for a Nickelodeon show. What is it like working for such an outstanding network?

A) It is cool going to all the different events, like the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice awards; it’s really great and fun.

Q) You are working in the studio in hopes of launching a recording career soon. How would you describe your sound and when can fans expect to see your CD?

A) I have a very soul voice, it’s very deep and strong, but my music is rock with a ska beat. It’s something really different and I hope everyone loves it. I’m not too sure when the CD will come out, but I am hoping next fall.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song?

A) There are so many people! I love Sublime and Gwen Stefani. I would like to do a remake of a Blondie or AC/DC song.

Q) What bands are you currently into?

A) I love Real Big Fish, Sublime, No Doubt and of course I love Britney Spears. Rancid is cool and I like up and coming bands like Reliant K and I dig Sugar Ray, too.

Q) What do you do in your spare time?

A) I mostly hang out with friends and I do competitive figure skating, which I am working on right now. I do horseback riding and I love shopping of course!

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A) I would just like to say thank you so much and keep watching the show! Thank you!
