Q

Q.  What are some of the recent projects that you've been working on?

A.  Up until now it's just pretty much been "Wildfire," we're starting our third season.  Our third season starts on January 1st so we have shot our third season the past four months.  Then, we're going to start shooting our fourth season in January as well.  So, I'll have a couple months off and then back to work on "Wildfire" again.

Q.  What can viewers expect to see with the new season of "Wildfire" beginning soon?

A.  We have a new writer, executive producer, show runner and writer.  I think he's been trying to take us back to first season.  So, it'll come back a little more to what they might have known in our first season.  As far as my character Dani goes, we get to see the more vulnerable side of Dani come out this year.  She's going to be falling in love and I have a great new love interest and lots of good stuff going on.

Q.  What is it about your character Dani that really continues to challenge you?

A.  Dani is a firey character, she is opinionated and smart and she's a woman.  There is a song that I keep coming back to this year which is Bob Dylan's "Just Like A Woman."  Because, that's exactly what she is, in every way she's a woman but she'll break just like a little girl.  So, that's kind of the challenging part, because she's so strong and willful to also balance that out with vulnerability is a challenge.

Q.  Originally, what made you want to be a part of the show?

A.  Originally I read the script and I loved the script.  The pilot script was the two hour movie of the week.  I loved it so much that I started crying when I read the script.  That normally doesn't happen, you read a lot of scripts, but you don't really become that effected by most of them.  But, for whatever reason as soon as I read the script I really knew I wanted to be a part of it.  Originally, I had auditioned for the role of Kris and I had gone in many, many times and I tested against Genevieve Cortese who ended up getting the role.  I guess also in that test situation was Micah who ended up playing Matt and Ryan who ended playing Junior, my brother.  They really liked the four of us and really wanted us all to be in the show, even though Ryan was testing for Matt and I was testing for Kris.  So, they offered Ryan the role of Junior and me the role of Dani.  I was just so excited because as I said, I really felt connected to the script of "Wildfire."  I thought it was a really heartwarming story.

Q.  Do you have a really memorable moment from your time filming the show?

A.  The pilot was a lot of fun, it was about two years ago now, we were all in a hotel in Old Town in Albuquerque together.  We were just really getting to know each other.  We were all so excited because it was most of our first really big thing.  We all were just excited about the project and we were there for about five weeks.  It was just a lot of fun because we were all on the same floor in the hotel.  Just getting to know each other and going out to dinner and having a few drinks; it was a blast.  It was a really good time and it was a really great bonding experience.  From this season my most memorable moment is Ryan and I playing our Nintendo DS systems.  That's pretty much what we do on set all day long, play Mario Vs. Luigi on Nintendo DS.

Q.  What do you think it is about the show that continues to draw viewers in?

A.  I think what keeps viewers tuning in to "Wildfire" is just the fact that it is a heart-warming story.  It's something that everyone can relate to and there is something for everybody.  I think that you can see yourself in at least one of the characters in our show.  It's entertaining, we have love triangles, we have a little suspense every now and then.  It's fun to see people sometimes do the wrong thing, as opposed to always having to be right. We have characters who are flawed and I think that's important.  I think humans as a whole are flawed, I think that's why you can kind of see yourself in them.

Q.  I noticed you are involved with several charities, which ones are you most involved in?

A.  I have gotten involved in charities, it is starting more so now than it really did in the beginning.  Just because now it's becoming easier to be involved and people are asking a little more than they used to.  But, recently I am doing something for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  I am designing a suitcase for them to auction off.  It's been fun, I'm trying to come up with a design still.  I am a little nervous about making it look good.  But, that's been a great thing to be able to do something and Diabetes is actually a problem that is effecting a lot of our kids these days.  It's scary so it's good to be able to help out in that way.  That's the most recent one I've gotten involved with.  I get involved off and on with whatever charities strike a cord with me at that time.  I haven't found my one charity that I want to just really do whatever I can for and call it my namesake charity.  I haven't found that charity yet.

Q.  What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

A.  Well, the Nintendo DS is big in my life.  I have three dogs, my husband and I have three dogs.  We have a house out here Albuquerque where we shoot.  I pretty much like hanging out with my husband and my animals and cooking some dinner.  I enjoy listening to some good music on my IPod and I've been reading a lot lately.  That's been fun, I just started The Glass Castle which is good so far.

Q.  Do you have a latest obsession?  Are you into any particular book, sport, music group or activity?

A.  My latest obsession is the Nintendo DS, I know we talked about it a few times so far.  But, that would be it, I really don't have time to do much else while we shoot.  That's because of the long hours on the set and I haven't really watched much TV.  Though I did watch "Heroes" and I thought that was good.

Q.  What would you like to say the fans and supporters of the show?

A.  I would like to thank all of our fans and supporters out there.  Thank you very much, the show really means a lot to me.  To know that people out there like it, makes it a hundred times better.  Keep watching because I think that they're going to like this season.
