QQ) What are the current projects that you are working on?
A) I just finished a couple more episodes of the show "Supernatural." I am not actually working on anything this minute, but I have more coming. I am looking forward to it!
Q) Please tell us the premise for the film Transformers and about your character Sarah Lennox.
A) It is about the Decepticons and Autobots coming down to Earth to have their war. The truth is, I don't know everything about the storyline because they didn't let everyone read the whole script. The humans obviously side with one of the sides of the robots. My husband, played by Josh Duhamel, is a Commander in the special forces and he is helping wage that battle. I'm waiting at home with our new baby for him to return, hopefully, alive and well!
Q) What made you want to be a part of the film?
A) What's funny is that when I auditioned for the movie at first I knew it was a Michael Bay film, but I wasn't really paying attention. I didn't know Transformers and I didn't know they were making the movie. I didn't play with Transformers as a kid and I wasn't following it. The audition was sent to me under a different title. So, I went and auditioned, where I met Michael Bay. They hired me and I didn't know until like three days later that it was Transformers. I had no idea! I thought it was just an action movie where my husband is at war. I didn't know anything about it, but when I found out, I was completely shocked and thrilled. It was funny, though!
Q) What about your role was challenging for you?
A) It's not a super challenging role because it is a really sweet and nice role. In one of the scenes I am at home with my baby and I see on the news that my husband's base has been blown up and there are no survivors. To imagine being in that position is not fun.
Q) What was it like working with such an all star cast?
A) The first day I arrived, all the boys were doing their tests for the Army gear. They are all tricked out in all of their greens. They were also doing their makeup tests and were all bruised, cut up and all dirty. It is really cute when boys are all dressed like that. I met Josh, Tyrese and Amaury right then. I only really worked with Josh because my storyline is so separate from anything else because I am off at my farmhouse in Kansas and nothing happens there. Working with Josh was awesome! He's so sweet and a lovely actor. He's hot, which is not a horrible thing to work with someone like that!
Q) What was your most memorable moment from filming the movie?
A) A super fun moment is when I was standing by "my house" and they had a bunch of the Transformer vehicles waiting. I looked and there was a bumper at eye level. I realized "my husband's" truck was the biggest pickup truck you've ever seen. It was just kind of fun being around these cars that have been built special for the movies. The movie, I think, is going to be incredible with the technical aspects and the special effects. With the vehicles that they made for it, it is just going to be amazing!
Q) Why should people take the time to check out the film?
A) Michael Bay, as far as special effects and a thrill ride, never disappoints. All of his movies are a spectacle. This one is going to be the biggest one so far. Just from the little I've seen and the little I've seen while I was there, the scope of it is huge! It's his typical story where you root for the good guys and you cheer on the bad guys to lose. Even from the trailer, you can see the extent of what the effects are going to look like. I think it's going to be jaw dropping!
Q) What made you want to become an actress?
A) Ever since I was a little girl I've just loved watching movies. For a long time, I loved movies, but I never really thought about being a part of it myself. It just didn't occur to me that I could. Then, I sort of fell into modeling, doing commercials and things. After a commercial I had was running (it ran during the Super Bowl) a director saw it. He decided he wanted to put me in his movie. He flew me out to Chicago to audition and I met with everybody. They gave me the film and I didn't have an agent and had never acted before. It was so fun that I thought, "Wow, this is way more fun than modeling! You get to talk and play characters." It started then! Ever since then it's been fun. If you can do this for a living, it's not a bad way to go!
Q) What do you do in your spare time?
A) Everyone always says they love to be outside and exercise, but that's not me! I love to hang out with my friends and going to the movies. I love hanging out with my dog. I do hike and go to yoga, but I am actually an avid knitter. It's the eighty-seven year old woman in me. I am a closet Halo player! I have an extensive group of friends online. It's sort of my guilty pleasure! It's so fun and I am really psyched about it. I buy myself a gift every time I get a job and after shooting these last episodes of "Supernatural," I bought an X-BOX 360 and I am so stoked for Halo 3 to come out!
Q) What would you say is your latest obsession? A film? A sport? A book? An activity?
A) I am sort really interior design right now. I am helping a friend finish her house. I've been sort of doing it over the last couple of years and it's a skill I've developed. I feel like I really like it and think it is something that I might be really good at. It's a fun hobby to have that keeps my artistic senses alive and well when I am not acting. It's fun! You get to hang out with your friends and buy pillows and furniture. It's great!
