New Page 1Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?
A) I'm working on "30 Rock."
Q) What's new this season on 30 Rock and with your character Cerie?
A) She is still engaged to a Greek shipping heir. There is a lot about their engagement at the start of the season. We have a lot of big named guest stars in the first few episodes with Jerry Seinfeld, Edie Falco and David Schwimmer guest star. Also, Liz breaks up with her boyfriend. Jenna gains forty pounds over the hiatus.
Q) When the show started, did you think it would be such a success?
A) When we first started, I really loved the concept of the whole concept, I thought it was really smart and I loved the writing. I knew, eventually, it would catch on, but then there was a point of time where we were getting a little bit worried. Ratings weren't that great, but it's such great writing that we knew eventually people would catch on to it and it was in a tough time slot. I knew it would catch on and that it would become a big hit.
Q) You have great comedic timing. Is it something that comes natural to you or have you worked at it?
A) I have never done comedy before and when I was on set, I would watch the other actors and I'm around such great comic actors, like icons, so I watch how they did it. It kind of came on natural, just from watching and observing what everyone else was doing.
Q) Do you think Cerie might get involved with a coworker one day? If so, who would you like her to get involved with?
A) I don't think she would get involved with a coworker. I don't think she's that kind of girl. I guess with Kenneth, there has always been this weird connection that happened last season, but I don't think it would be anything serious if it did happen. It could be funny if it did!
Q) What is the best part of filming in New York?
A) I grew up on the East Coast so I love the East Coast. There is a great energy to New York. It's always buzzing and there is always something to do. I didn't have to relocate, which is a big plus. Not many shows shoot out here so we are very lucky to have what we have here and not have to move across the country to do it.
Q) Why do you think people keep tuning in to the show?
A) It's funny! I think all of the characters are really relatable. They are kind of like an exaggerated version of characters that we all kind of know in our real, everyday lives. I think people just love Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin. They know Tina is such a great writer, she's smart and intelligent. She's great with witty comedy. Also, Alec has proven himself to be a great comedian with great timing. I think all the characters are just really exciting for everyone. It's witty comedy and is unlike most sitcoms. It's smart and has really great jokes in it. I feel like every time you watch an episode, you can watch it again and again and keep finding jokes and funny things you missed the first time. It's just a lot crammed into thirty minutes of television and I think people like comedy. It's uplifting, funny and real. I think it is relatable, too.
Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters and fans of the show?
A) Thank you for watching the show. Keep watching! It's going to be even better this year.
