Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) I am working on the show "Pretty Little Liars," which premieres June 8th on ABC Family. I am really excited about it

Q) Please tell us the premise for the show "Pretty Little Liars" and about your character Alison DiLaurentis.

A) It's about four girls and I play their best friend that goes missing. She was the leader of them, but it is a love-hate relationship. They love her because she's the leader of them, but hate her because she's really mean. The best way to describe her would be Regina George in Mean Girls, but she loves her girls though. She likes to manipulate them and has secrets of her own that no one really knows. She kind of comes back to haunt them by leaving the girls messages that only she knew. It's a murder-mystery-teen drama.

Q) What made you want to be a part of the show?

A) It is a book series and I had heard about them before. So, I kind of knew a little bit about them. Then, I got a call for an audition. Because of that, I read a little of the first book and kind of fell in love with it. They really are good books and they draw you in. Sara Shepard, the author, is just a really great writer. She makes everything clear and you can visualize everything. I fell in love with Alison because it is always fun to play the mean girl. I was ecstatic to get it.

Q) You mentioned Regina George from Mean Girls. Is that where you drew from for your portrayal of Alison?

A) Pretty much. She is the leader of the school and the most popular girl. She pretty much controls everything and she dresses like Regina George, very trendy like in "Gossip Girl." She knows what to wear to get the boys to like her.

Q) What have you found challenging about the role?

A) She's very manipulative. I've played a lot of mean characters, but she's different. She has a dark side, but it is not always angry. It's very controlled. She can pinpoint everyone's buttons without looking like she's mean. It gets kind of challenging, but it is really fun to play. It's always a new challenge every time I go on set, which is nice.

Q) Was there instant chemistry when the cast began working together or did it take some time to gel?

A) We're like a family already. There is a pretty big group of us and we just get along really well, the five girls especially. We're already tight knit, which is good. We're pretty much like the girls in the book.

Q) What is your most memorable moment from filming "Pretty Little Liars?"

A) We shot the pilot in Vancouver and it was really freezing there. Two distinct moments I can remember has one with Lucy Hale and one with Troian Bellisario. We were in our bathing suits filming, but it was snowing. Poor Troian has dark hair and they had to keep her out of the snow because it kept showing up in her hair. We were in bathing suits pretending it was summer. It was crazy! It was really chilly, but some how we did it. We had fun, but it was challenging. We all laughed about it later, but now we're in California filming and it's so much better!

Q) Why do you think people will want to take their time to watch the show?

A) It's different. You have "Gossip Girl" and that's really great and I love those shows, but this one is different every week. You have to watch every episode to know about the storyline and know what is happening. I think that's what is going to draw people in. It's a really twisted storyline and if you really pay attention to it you'll get everything. It draws you in and you get to know about the characters. Each character has a storyline and none are the same. It's not the same every week. It's a different kind of team drama that I don't think we've seen yet.

Q) Where can people go online to learn more about you?

A) I have a website that a fan created for me a while ago and I recently got in touch with her. It was really great and she likes to do it. So, I took down my old one and now her's is the main one. It ishttp://www.sasha-pieterse.com. It comes up as stardust once you click on it, but it is a whole website she created with more pictures of me on it than I have myself! She's pretty much got everything covered that I have done.

Q) What would you like to say everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I just want to say thank you because I am nothing without my fans. They have taken me this far and I'm really blessed to be working right now. It's hard times everywhere. So, I just want to say thank you.
