Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) I just finished up an independent film called The Secret Life of Dorks and they are currently in the editing process of that. So, we're going to try and submit it to festivals. It's about two dorks trying to find love and they end up finding love with each other. I play the girl dork in it.

Q) Please tell us about your character Hope West in "Scoundrels."

A) Hope is the youngest of the West family. She is also the smartest of the West family. She is very sarcastic! She's the whole family's criminal mind. She really doesn't see the whole point of going to school, even though she is the smartest in the family. She thinks she can just get over it by breaking the rules like her family does.

Q) What made you want to be a part of the show?

A) I auditioned for the show and booked it. I was really lucky with this show because it was already picked up and it had a fantastically funny script. Also, I didn't know this going into it, but the group of people I'm working with is fantastic. We have great actors and brilliant writers. They are just very, very sweet, hilarious and kind people. It's been a pleasure to work in that environment.

Q) Where do you draw from to portray this character?

A) Out of all the characters I've ever played, I feel like Hope is the most similar to my personality. She's a little bit more bitter than I am, but there are many similarities between Hope and I. I may not be that way in my professional life, but in my personal life...believe me sarcasm comes out.

Q) What about the role challenges you?

A) I think because we are a dramedy, we have to be careful not to over play the comedy and not to over play the drama. The biggest thing with me has been trying to find that balance and layering. It can be comedic, but there is a dramatic undertone. Figuring out where that plays in which scene has been not so much a challenge, but something to really work at.

Q) Was there instant chemistry when you joined the cast or did it take time to develop?

A) We were all stuck in Albuquerque shooting this and we were there for three months. We didn't know anybody else. Virginia [Madsen] really made an effort to be sure we all were friends. We all joined in on that. We were all very much into it. She really made an effort that we were all getting along, that we all stuck together through this experience and that we all bonded. We were all stuck in Albuquerque together so we might as well have a good time!

Q) You have great comedic timing. Is it something that comes natural to you or have you had to work at it?

A) My mom owned a theater (and still owns a theater) since I was a wee child so I've kind of always been in that environment. My mom specializes in comedy. So, for me, it's been harder to work at the dramatic aspects of the character and all characters I play. It's more of a struggle to find dramatic moments than comedic moments. It's funny because I feel that through this experience I've been able to find some good dramatic moments and still have to remember to keep up with the comedy, as well.

Q) What has been your most memorable moment from filming "Scoundrels?"

A) Virginia would have us get together and have dinner every Sunday. At one particular photo shoot, we had to wear orange dresses and orange suits to look like prison jumpsuits. We shot it on a Sunday, where Virginia would usually have our dinner for us. It was going to be for the entire cast because we're not all usually together to shoot. It's usually Virginia and the three kids, two of the kids together or David James Elliot and the kids. It was the first time that we were all really in the same room. After the photo shoot, we all went out to dinner and that was great because we were all together in the same place. Also, the entire photo shoot for our billboard was so much fun and very orange. Leven [Rambin] (who plays my sister Heather) actually came up with the concept for it and our costume designer designed the dresses.

Q) Why will people want to take their time to watch the show?

A) It's a fun show and it's not very complicated. It explains itself and it is hilarious. You feel for these characters. I think what people can take away from it is that there are so many different characters and we're actors with such different styles that you will fall in love with at least two of the characters as you're watching. You'll also really feel for them and want to follow their story. They'll entertain you week after week and I really hope that people give it a chance. I hope they can find that character they relate to and continue to be entertained by the entire show. We have put a lot of work into it and had a lot of fun doing it. I hope everybody gets the same reaction that we have.

Q) What is your latest obsession?

A) I am starting school again soon so I am trying to obsessively get back into reading textbooks. I'm in a very education mode at the moment.

Q) What would you like to say to fans and supporters of you and your work?

A) Thank you very much and watch "Scoundrels!" Continue to support me and I appreciate everything. I'm so happy that people enjoy what I do because I do. I am glad I can entertain!
