Q

Q.  What are some of the recent projects that you've been working on?

A.  The most recent project I have been working on is "Pretty Little Liars" for ABC Family, produced by Warner Brother Horizon Television.

Q.  What can you tell us about the premise for "Pretty Little Liars" and about your character Toby?

A.  "Pretty Little Liars" is about big secrets in a small town.  Toby Cavanaugh, The character that I play, is a wounded spirit constantly struggling with his dark past.

Q.  What made you want to be a part of this project?

A.  The combination of gifted writers, producers, directors and cast along with the foundation which is the series of books from which our series is based.

Q.  Where do you draw from for your portrayal of Toby?

A.  High school experiences, people I have come in contact with, peoples traits I have observed as well as my formal training have brought to life a "layered" Toby.

Q.  Is there anything about your role that you're finding challenging?

A.  Yes, each episode the writing is so interesting, I find myself challenged each week to bring the new story-lines to life.

Q.  Was there instant cast chemistry or did it take some time to develop?

A.  Yes and no. There was definitely Instant chemistry with different characters in the show, and also as story-lines progressed different characters chemistry increased based on those story-lines. I am really lucky to work with a really focused professional group of young actors. Pretty little liars is an awesome experience as far as that goes.

Q.  The show is getting a lot of good buzz and great viewership, what do you think it is about the show that's drawing so many viewers in?

A.  Our head writer has done an amazing job translating from the books these characters and bringing them to life in a contemporary interesting way for a young television audience. Combined with fresh faces and talent, "Pretty Little Liars" is a genuine ensemble production that has clearly resonated with so many viewers.

Q.  Is there a place online where those interested can go to learn more about you?

A.  (laughing)... There actually isn't. As funny as this sounds for a young actor in Hollywood, I'm a little bit superstitious about self-promotion, but maybe in time I'll warm up to it. until then just watch "Pretty Little Liars."
