Q) Is Stefan going to feel guilty for letting Elena push him?

A) He's definitely going to be guilt-ridden, unfortunately. Hopefully, that will lead him to, so to speak, if he was an alcoholic to turn to the bottle. I'm hoping that, because of all this guilt, he becomes a little dark because I like Ripper Stefan.

Q) Which of the brothers do you think Elena should end up with?

A) I just don't think there is a future with a vampire. I think that Elena and Stefan have an undying love and romance. I think with Damon there is like this dangerous, primal, sexual thing. I don't necessarily think that either one of them is end game. It's just this beautiful story. And I think at the end of the day they may have to leave her. I really don't know. It's hard to say that she should be with either one of them.

Q) What role will Stefan play in guiding her through her transition?

A) I really hope he doesn't get too protective. I hope they can do fun, dangerous, wild activities together. I think it's a great opportunity for them to get crazy because he's not worried about protecting her anymore. I'm hoping he embraces her vampire-ism.

Q) Do you think Stefan is jealous of Damon because he got to live more wild and crazy?

A) Yeah, as an actor I have jealousy of my brother getting to be more wild and crazy. It's always fun to play the bad boy. It's never fun to play the good guy. It's just the bottom line. When we switch roles, we're always like, "Ha-ha! You have to be good!"

Q) What is it like working with your wife on the show?

A) It's lovely. It's wonderful.

Q) Julie [Plec] has said that Stefan is going to lean on Caroline next season. Is she going to be Stefan's new love?

A) I'm very excited about that! I love working with Candice [Accola] and I think we have a great compatibility on screen. We'll see what happens. I wonder if it's going to be romantic in the least bit. They might get romantic. You never know! Drunken night...the two of them go home one night...the two of them making out.

Q) Elena didn't choose Stefan in the finale, but she is going to start remembering all of the stuff Damon has made her forget over the years. How is Stefan going to deal with that competition?

A) Maybe he'll find a new love interest.

Q) Maybe Rebecca?

A) I thought they were going to go that way, initially. I thought there was going to be a little romance initially, but it just turned into animosity.

Q) Elena said on the mountain that she didn't want to become a vampire to you. How do you think that's going to effect things, the fact that you let her die even though it is free will?

A) She's definitely going to fall into Damon's arms a little bit. I think that's ok because that's the story and that's the way it goes. Sometimes it's Stefan and sometimes it's Damon. The minute her and Damon are in love she is going to go right back to Stefan. It's just how our show operates.

Q) Is Stefan going to let it happen because he feels so guilty?

A) I have no idea. That's a very good question. I wish I knew.

Q) It was interesting to see Damon in a relationship with another woman.

A) It was definitely interesting to see Damon in a relationship with another woman, period. Just because you always associate Stefan with Elena. It definitely makes Stefan look at Elena in a different light.

Q) Who would you want to guest star on "The Vampire Diaries?"

A) I want Monica Bellucci to play a vampire goddess. My wife and I both dig her. We both think she's a good, attractive woman.
