Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?
A) I have a movie coming out in February, but the new show "The Goldbergs" is what I've been working on recently.
Q) Please tell us about your character on "The Goldbergs."
A) I play Lexi Bloom, who is a J.C. Penny model in the 80's and she is the popular girl at the high school.
Q) What made you want to be a part of the show?
A) It's such a fun show. I read the script and it was hilarious. I've seen a couple of the episodes of the show that have come out and it's just a really fun show. The whole 80's aspect has been a blast doing hair, makeup and wardrobe. It's just been a really fun show to work on.
Q) What was your family's reaction to seeing you in character?
A) I wasn't alive in the 80's so I'm sending all these photos to my mom of wardrobe and hair and she's cracking up because that's exactly the way it looked in the 80's. She says she is embarrassed to say she's probably worn the same outfit before.
Q) What has your wardrobe from the show made you think about what you wear in your real life?
A) I'll be out shopping and I'll see something and think, "That's something I would wear on 'The Goldbergs.'' All the 80's stuff is coming back in style and I know a lot more about it now.
Q) Was there anything about the role that you brought to it that wasn't originally scripted for you?
A) She's written as your standard popular pretty girl. I try to still make her likeable because she can come across as the bitchy pretty girl from high school, but I tried to make her real and like maybe you could be friends with her.
Q) We'll see Lexi appear in the Halloween episode. Is there a chance she'll be a reoccurring character?
A) I'm also in the episode following Halloween and I will possibly reoccur in a few episodes later on.
Q) Did the chemistry between the cast come naturally or did it take some time to develop?
A) It came really naturally. Everyone I got to work with in the cast was hilarious and amazing. My scene is opposite Wendi McLendon-Covey (who plays the mother) and she is the greatest improver. She was hilarious and a blast to work with. I was really fortunate to work with such a hilarious cast. I'm the new girl as the guest star and they really welcomed me and were really friendly. They were great to work with.
Q) "The Goldbergs" is an amazing comedy. Has comedic timing come natural to you or have you had to work at it?
A) It's really something that has come natural to me, as well as I've always been a person who was really open to doing anything they have wanted me to do. As far as physical comedy, I'm open to anything. I'm not afraid to be a goof. Comedy has always come natural to me because I'm not afraid to do whatever they want me to do.
Q) You're a part of the social networking site Twitter. Are you looking forward to the instant feedback you'll be getting there from fans?
A) Instagram is my favorite social media at the moment. Anything on Instagram I'll probably see. I try to stay up on Twitter, but it is hard! I'm really excited to hear what people say and I'm really excited see how people will react to "The Goldbergs," the 80's and my costume.
Q) What do you think it is about "The Goldbergs" that has made it so popular?
A) I think it's the cast. They are really funny and likeable. There is something about them that seems grounded and like a real family. I think a lot of people see their own family in one of the characters or the whole cast. It's such a silly show with a truth of real family and real stories and I think almost everyone can relate to that.
Q) Next year you'll star in the movie Almanac. Please tell us about the premise and about your character.
A) I can't say much about it just yet, but it is a fun, cool movie that will be out in February next year. It's about what you would do if you had a time machine. It's a really fun adventure and I play the lead's younger sister. My character is kind of filming the majority of the movie. It's a very cool, different movie and I think everyone is going to enjoy it.
Q) You're an actress and a model, but is there anything else you'd like to try your hand at?
A) I'd like to try writing one day. I think it would be really fun. I actually love cinematography. So, if I ever got the opportunity to shoot something and DP something, it would be a great opportunity.
Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?
A) I'd like to thank everybody who is reading about me and cared enough to do so. I think everybody will love the movie next year and love "The Goldbergs." I'm having a great time doing it and I'm grateful to have these amazing opportunities. It's all exciting stuff!
