Maggie Peyton's (Lindsay Lohan) family is a well known racing team, they have been since her grandfather raced.  Her brother Ray (Breckin Meyer) currently drives the family's stock car but he's got a few problems, he crashes a lot.  Maggie used to street race cars until she got in an accident, she's now focusing on her job working in New York for ESPN coming up for the fall.  She's recently graduated college and that's what she's got to look forward to.  That is until a car named Herbie enters her life!  As a graduation present Maggie's dad lets her pick out a car from a junk yard, even though she's going to only be home for a month.  She has a short encounter with Herbie and his abilities (he used to be quite the energetic racing car as number fifty-three) and decides to buy him and instantly regrets it.  Herbie is pretty dilapidated and has quite the mind of his own.  Instead of Maggie as the driver, it's more like Herbie taking the wheel.  He leads her to goofy mechanic Kevin (Justin Long) who used to be a friend of Maggie's, and he still looks like he's quite smitten with her.

The Peyton racing team is on its last legs, all of the racing sponsors they have are pulling out.  The team hasn't won a big race in a long time and that doesn't sit well with them.  The last company hanging on to the Peyton's is Bass Pro Shops, which is pretty bewildering to the viewer!  After an encounter with Trip Murphy (Matt Dillon), one of the top race car drivers, Maggie and Herbie are challenged to a street race.  Herbie makes mince meat out of Murphy's racing car and that ticks him off.  He vows to find out what's really up with Herbie and uses a few sneaky measures to try and do just that.  A mixture of fast paced racing action, part romance and family drama, Herbie: Fully Loaded is speeding into theaters soon!

The problem with Herbie: Fully Loaded is that it stalls out with Lohan's performance.  There is a spark missing from her previous movie roles like Mean Girls or Freaky Friday, and the plot just seems to be quite lacking.  Breckin Meyer shows up sparingly in the film and gives a lackluster performance.  Justin Long plays his goofball role to a tee in this one, but doesn't make such a great leading man, not to mention there is not much chemistry between his character and Lohan's.  Michael Keaton plays the father figure and ends up drowning in his own performance. What's missing in this film is the cast and the spark, where did the writers go wrong?

Herbie: Fully Loaded has its moments but if you want a movie that's good for the family and is entertaining, unfortunately this movie isn't that.
