Danielle Chuchran – Home on the Prarie

Q) Who are your favorite designers and why?

A) My favorite designer is DSquared2, Dean and Dan Caten. There collection is just more my style. They have laid back collars and I love collars, kind of like street chic.

Q) Why did you decide to apply for the show?

A) It was my brother that encouraged me to do it. I’ve been trying to model since age twelve and it’s a really hard industry to get into. I decided that going through “Top Model” would probably put me out there much quicker than I could do it myself.

Q) What did you like about your time in Thailand?

A) I loved the whole idea of being outside of the United States. That was my first time outside of the US and I was grateful for the opportunity to be flown over there and shoot in some amazing places.

Q) Did you spend time practicing your runway walk before the walk-off?

A) No, we just had to go out there and do it. It was a very difficult runway because it was so long and it had flower petals on it. That resulted in the runway being extremely slippery so it was kind of hard to walk on it.

Q) How did you get the confidence to perform in the big show?

A) Walking, modeling and taking pictures are my passion so that’s my drive to win the title. I had to get out there and prove to the judges that I was the best girl.

Q) Why do you think the judges chose you over Joanie?

A) It’s really difficult to say. I don’t know. Joanie and I are like night and day. I really can’t say what the judges saw in me. Obviously, I’m really glad that they did choose me, but I don’t really know what the differences between us are. I didn’t ask any questions. She said, “Danielle, you are ‘America’s Next Top Model’,” and I was like, “Okay.” I took it and ran with it. I didn’t ask any questions so I don’t know.

Q) How did you feel having a photo shoot for People magazine?

A) It was cool. That’s when it started to sink in that I was the winner. I love being photographed so it was just amazing to open up the magazine and see my picture in it.

Q) In your interview with People, you mentioned surprising your mom with buying a car. Do you still have that plan or did she find out about the surprise?

A) She found out about it, but I still plan on getting that for her. So, I am really excited about that. That’s the first thing that my first check is going to, to buy her a vehicle!

Q) Have you been working on hiding your accent?

A) When I came home I worked with a dialect coach for a little while. I just have to speak slowly and a little bit more clearly so everyone can understand me now.

Q) You and Joanie bonded in the house and viewers got to see you even rapping together. Is that something you did often?

A) Joanie and I did that and dancing. That’s what we did to keep ourselves occupied and to keep it humorous in the house.

Q) What are you going to do now that you won “America’s Next Top Model?”

A) I will be moving to New York and be signed with Ford. I am a CoverGirl, so that’s really exciting! My life has completely changed and I am going to be working around the clock now.

Q) Who do you keep in touch with from the show?

A) I keep in contact with Mollie and Joanie. I talk to Gina and Sara here and there. Mollie and I got extremely close and we now talk every other day.

Q) What advice do you have for future contestants?

A) If you want to do it, I say go for it. Always remember to stay true to yourself. Don’t ever compromise your morals and beliefs to get ahead in life.

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A) Thank you so much for believing in me and watching me every week. I promise that I’ll stay that same Danielle that you watched every week on television.
