Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) Right now my main project is being a Dad. Having recently wrapped Season Four of “Power,” besides some small projects with friends I’m just focused on quality family time before things get busy again.

Q) How was your character Mike Sandoval on “Power” originally described to you?

A) When I first met Mike he was an AUSA coming from California to head the NY Crime Division, a lawyer with great legal skills and a no nonsense attitude. A clean cut law man. He was the new Chief now in New York who was going to clean up the failing Lobos task force. That’s all I had before things took their turn.

Q) What attracted you to the role?

A) Playing a lawyer was on my bucket list for acting.

Q) What continues to challenge you about your portrayal?

A) The challenge has always been playing the secrets. Mike wasn’t always on the dark side. There is guilt and a battle of selves always going on in his head. He has made some choices in life that have lead to a domino effect of more forced bad decisions. All, in his mind, justified for survival. So, not showing this burden, but giving the audience something, took a little bit to figure out for me.

Q) What can you tease is in store for Mike this season?

A) Mike is going to be working really hard to survive the chaos that’s going down on “Power.” He’ll do anything, including taking down whoever gets in his way of clearing himself from this burden.

Q) What is one thing “Power” fans would be surprised to learn about costar 50 Cent?

A) I think 50 is in a league of his own. What you see is what you get. Simple, but yet so complex. Hard to come up with anything.

Q) What were some of your most memorable moments filming this season?

A) Since I’m on the law side of things, one would think we’re more the serious set. But the truth is, behind all the drama and legal jargon are a group of actors having too much fun. There are always moments with threats of breaking with laughter.  Best legal team ever!

Q) What have you taken away from your time working on “Power?”

A) Working with such professionals that love what they do is a thrill ride. We are handed great material and are trusted to fly with it. It’s allowed me to experience a flow in my work.

Q) Have people started recognizing you from the show yet when you’re out in public?

A) I rarely get recognized as Mike. Wardrobe and hair & makeup really changes you. And Mike is very stiff and serious. I’m a lot more laid back and I’m not always so clean shaven. And to be honest, I don’t know if I want to be recognized the way this season is going…[smiles}

Q) You do a lot of dramatic work. Is there something about this genre that really draws you to it?

A) I have such an admiration for writers and the worlds they create. That’s where the real talent is, in my opinion. Especially in drama where the goal is to mimic real life. I just love to collaborate and be part of that machine.

Q) You are a part of social media. Do you enjoy the instant fan feedback you receive to the show?

A) I do enjoy it! Their passion is a testament to how awesome our team is at Power.

Q) Is there anything you want to be sure fans know about Mike and this season of “Power?”

A) Any one of us could be a Mike. It just takes that one epic bad move and the unwillingness to atone. Fear can sometimes make us do things we would never even imagine.
