We begin Season Three with Billy (Billy Eichner) and Julie (Julie Klausner) ruining a CBS live production of the horrible idea that is “Bazinga in the Park with George,” a mash-up that consist of the cast of the CBS hit “The Big Bang Theory” playing the roles in the Sondheim hit “Sunday in the Park with George.” For this they get community service. Their first task is trash duty.

We then go to the cafe where Denise (Gabourey Sidibe) and Nate (Derrick Baskin) are holding a meeting with Billy and our favorite trans-woman/conspiracy theorist Lola (Shakina Nayfack). Matthew (Cole Escola) comes in blubbering about his parents who died in a tragic shoot-out at Dollywood over the last funnel cake. Boy, have I missed this bunch!

We shift back to Julie who insists that the only way to get through her family Passover Seder/ her mother Marilyn (Andrea Martin) without her supportive boyfriend/Marilyn laughing stock Arthur (James Urbaniak), who is being sent to Florida for PBS, is to get hyped up on more anti-depressants to add to her already long list of drug cocktail. So, she goes to her old college campus pretending to be a millennial in order to get free pills, but the only hitch in her plan is that the lady in charge happened to die in front of her eyes of a heart attack.

The next stop on Julie’s quest is obviously Quiznos, of which Trump has turned into a healthcare spot as well sandwich restaurant in this fictional world. Julie gets denied again because she has way too many drugs in her system already. This little lunch stop gives Billy enough energy to do a mass audition, which results in him getting a job as a warm up comic for Larry Wilmore’s new show.

Billy and Julie’s community service takes them to the children’s hospital where they assume every child has cancer there and is dying, despite the fact that the kid there just has a broken leg. Billy insists on signing his cast using his clown name “Mario Lopez.”

Since Julie can’t get prescription drugs she tries meditation apps. The Seder begins soon after and it seems the only problem besides Marilyn is Aunt Bonnie (Stockard Channing) who is AWFUL! She basically ruins the Seder with all her talk, talk and talk.

The new lunch rules at the cafe have made it possible for Maury (Maury Povich) to be there for lunch and deal with Matthew’s latest temper tantrum about not getting enough attention for Denise.

Billy starts his new job with Larry Wilmore and gets fired the same day after he starts to riff and offend Larry Wilmore and the kid from the hospital who after returning to school gets beat up because of his cast signed by “Mario Lopez.” Larry Wilmore physically attacks Billy and then fires him.

Well, that’s all for Episode 1. More recaps of Season 3 will be coming your way pretty soon!
