Q.  What are some of the recent projects that you’ve been working on?

A.  The feature film Young Triffie’s Been Made Away With, directed by Mary Walsh.  Also, the feature film Black Eyed Dog, which was directed by Pierre Gang.  I’m just getting ready to shoot some more episodes of “Robson Arms.”

Q.  You’re a regular on the show “Corner Gas.”  For those unfamiliar with the show, what can you tell us about the show and about your role?

A.  Well, “Corner Gas” is a show about a whole lot of nothing, and a group of small town characters getting all worked up, about a whole lot of nothing.  I play Hank, maybe the dumbest character in the history of Canadian television.  The great thing about this show, and maybe the thing I’m most proud of, is that any member of the family can sit down and watch the show, and there’s something there for them.

Q.  What made you want to be a part of this show?

A.  Summers in Regina.

Q.  You also worked on the movie Black Eyed Dog recently.  How was getting to work with director Pierre Gang on this film?

A.  Pierre Gang is absolutely wonderful to work with.Black Eyed Dog is the second time I’ve been lucky enough to work for him. Pierre is one of the few people that see me for characters outside of what I am usually considered for. I really enjoy the challenges he puts in front of me. I would work with Pierre when ever he asked, no question.

Q.  Do you have a most memorable moment from working on Black Eyed Dog?

A.  Every day was pretty memorable. Getting to work with Pierre again was exciting. I was very lucky to get to work with Sonya Salomaa and Brendan Fletcher.

Q.  Why should viewers take the time to check out this film?

A.  It’s a great story with wonderful characters, that I think people will be able to connect with.

Q.  When taking on a role, how do you transform yourself into a character?

A.  This may sound cheesy, but, I just try to be as open as possible, and allow the writers words to play through me.  I’ll go through the script and make note of important things the character needs to be aware of, anything that might need special attention.  Or, if there is a physicality that needs to be addressed. Other than that, I just show up with my lines memorized, and let things happen.

Q.  What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

A.  I play ultimate Frisbee, golf and hockey.  I might get back into lacrosse this year if I can find a team that will take me. But, more than anything, I like being home with Toresa (My fiancée) and Chloe (our dog), all cozy on the couch watching movies. Home is my favorite thing to do.

Q.  Do you have a latest obsession?  Are you into any particular book, sport, music group or activity?

A.  I’m a little crazy for golf right now, so much so I actually took lessons. And, during the first season of “Corner Gas,” Brent Butt got me hooked on graphic novels. Right now I’m reading The Sand Manseries. Very Cool. Oh, poker night with the boy’s, Texas Hold-’em. During the Black Eyed Dog shoot, Brendan took forty bucks off of me, I want it back.

Q.  What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A.  I love what I’m doing right now, and I hope watching my work brings you as much joy, as it brings me to do it for you. Thank you for your support. Really, really!
