Annalise (Viola Davis) shares a jail cell with Bonnie (Liza Weil). She says they told her an anonymous source has given them information they can use to prosecute her. She makes Bonnie look her in the eye and deny it was her. We flash to the week before when Bonnie wakes up Annalise to tell her that Frank is back. Over at Laurel’s home, Frank (Charlie Weber) confronts her about her feelings for Wes (Alfred Enoch). He says he has come to her house because he needs her. He says he disappeared because he didn’t want to involve her, but he loves her. She doesn’t want to hear it and tries to get him to leave. He understands, but doesn’t know what he’ll do if he has to be alone. Bonnie calls Laurel to see if Frank showed up on her doorstep. Annalise gets on the phone and tells Laurel to pass along a message – don’t ever come to her home again. She wants Laurel to keep him at her place for the time being.

Asher (Matt McGorry) and Michaela (Aja Naomi King) tease Connor (Jack Falahee) about hooking up with Oliver. Meanwhile, Wes’ attorney shows up at his door to say he’s gotten a subpoena to discuss what he witnessed in regards to Wallace Mahoney’s murder. Annalise says they have to find Wallace’s sons alibi in order to discount it. Bonnie heads over to Laurel’s place to tell Frank that they now require his help. Wes shows up at Laurel’s as well and she tells him about Frank. Wes wants to be sure that she didn’t hookup with him and wonders if he now knows that they hooked up.

The university President contacts Annalise to tell her that her husband has filed for divorce. The President says that because of her criminal record that it means they won’t give her custody of her children. So, she needs Annalise’s advice on how to proceed – take the offer or figure out how she can save her family.

At the law clinic, Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) receives flowers and Asher assumes that Connor sent them. Oliver throws the flowers out and says that his apology won’t work. Oliver asks if instead he and Connor and hookup. Simon Drake (Behzad Dabu) makes a snarky remark when Michaela, Asher and Connor head out of the office together. He notes how ironic it is that Oliver can penetrate Connor, but not his inner circle. At Annalise’s, she wants the Keating Five to figure out a way to stall Wes’ hearing until Frank can break Mahoney’s sons alibi. Asher is certain Frank is the man for the job because “he’s the beard.” He’s shocked though when Laurel explains he is now beardless. Michaela doesn’t want to help though because Wes was stupid enough to lie to the police. Joining Michaela, Connor heads out the door after saying Wes can fend for himself. We watch Frank as he follows a woman viewers recognize – the lady who gave him the money to have Annalise’s son killed.

Wes and Laurel head to the hospital where they cuddle in the waiting room. Wes’ former girlfriend, Meggy (Corbin Reid), finds them and says she was right in assuming they broke up because of Laurel. Wes is there to get his patient records and Meggy isn’t interested in hearing. She just wants him out of her sight.

Bonnie tells Asher that Michaela and Connor weren’t wrong to leave. He says they are ducks and “ducks fly together” (a reference to the movie The Mighty Ducks). Bonnie says something bad is always about to happen at Annalise’s house so it’s best for him to not be there. Wes’ attorney arrives to let them know that Mahoney’s attorney filed a motion to get Wes a psych evaluation before he can be deemed a credible witness. Annalise tells Bonnie to let Frank know not to touch anyone or he’ll regret it.

Oliver and Connor share a shower. Connor says he’s trying to avoid Annalise’s drama because he’s trying to pay more attention to Oliver and his school. Oliver gets a call from Thomas, but has no interest in answering it. Over at Michaela’s place, Asher is giving her the download on their day and Wes’ case, but she isn’t interested in hearing it. He wonders why she is being cold about the Wes situation, but she says she is simply “putting herself first.” They talk about Michaela’s mom who called, but Michaela says her mother will just ask her to give money to family or friends.

Annalise begins to ask Wes questions that he’ll hear during his psych evaluation when he interrupts her to ask if she plans to take Frank back. He says that Frank killed her son and she counters with the fact that Wes killed her husband. She asks how Laurel is doing and he wonders if she told her about them being together. Annalise says she didn’t have to and she is just glad he has someone. Frank calls Bonnie and tells her to check her email. He has identified the woman who paid him as Lucy Cameron (Emily Swallow) and says that he has plans to kill her and her kids in revenge. Annalise tries to get him to agree not to put a finger on either of them.

Annalise has flashes back to the car accident and hospital room where she lost her son while starring at a picture of Lucy and her child. She heads to convenience store where she opens a bottle of wine and takes a big sniff. At the register, we see her stare at the cheap cell phones behind the counter. Frank calls Bonnie back to say that he left without harming anyone. Bonnie tells him that he was right and to go back inside to murder Lucy and her daughter to help Annalise. Annalise arrives back home and says that Frank is on the phone and didn’t touch anyone. She is glad and shows them a mobile phone she got at the store, which she refers to as a “real solution.”

Wes has his psych evaluation and we watch as Wallace Mahoney’s son receives a cell phone in his jail cell. Laurel heads to see Nate to plead for help with Wes. Back at Annalise’s home, Wes arrives and announces he has been cleared to testify. The next day at the trial, Wes says that he saw Wallace’s son, Charles (Wilson Bethel) prior to the shooting. He is grilled by the defense attorney who brings up his past psychological issues. The defense attorney keeps pushing Wes with theories over a conspiracy against her client.

Annalise meets with the university President to tell her that she has a tough case ahead of her. She wants the President to fight. Annalise says kids want a mother who is a “beast” and one who won’t give up the fight. She also offers to be her attorney in the custody case.

Lucy takes the stand at the trial and says that Wallace’s son Charles was at her house for a hookup at the time of the murder. She asks Lucy if they’ve talked since that night, which she denies. The D.A. wants to know why there is a call then from her house to Charles in prison. We cut to seeing Nate phone the D.A. to warn her that Charles has a cell phone. We see Frank pick up Lucy’s house (when he had snuck in) to tell that cell phone Charles was given. The defense attorney does a great job at making Lucy look like a fool and further pushes Charles to look guilty.

Over at Oliver’s home, Oliver wants to know if he looked at his laptop would he see that Connor was checking up on Wes’ court case. He assures Oliver that he continues to want to “remain in the bubble,” but Oliver doesn’t understand the constant secrecy. Connor (again) notes that he has said before how there are certain things he must keep away from him for his protection. Connor reminds him as well that he told Oliver to stay away from Annalise, but still asked for a job from her. Connor says it is not his place to tell him certain things, but Oliver says that he wants to know everything about the person he is with – the good and the bad. Oliver further contends that he is not a safety blanket for Connor to wrap himself in during the tough times. He thinks it is emotional damage that Connor has been holding on to. Connor is shocked that Oliver used the word “damaged” to describe him and walks out.

Laurel and Wes meet up. He tells her that she is always looking out for him so right now when she is bummed he has her back. She assures him she has herself, but he lets her know that he also is there for her. Bonnie waits for Annalise at her home, but is shunned because she lied about not having seen Frank. Annalise walks inside to see Frank sitting in her study.

Connor shows up at Michaela’s and he is PISSED! While Michaela is busy helping him calm down, Asher answers her cellphone when he sees her mother is calling. Meanwhile, Frank tries to explain that after the accident he watched her get better throughout the years and get over the loss of her child. Annalise says that he watched their marriage fall apart and said nothing. Frank wants to repair their relationship, but she tells him things can’t be fixed. He takes a gun out and threatens to kill himself – something that would make it all better. Annalise pushes him. She tells him she wouldn’t feel bad if he did it and Bonnie appears to tell him not to do it. Annalise pushes and Bonnie begs him not to.

We flash to the night of the fire back to Annalise in jail. Michaela, Asher and Oliver show up at the jail and speak with Bonnie. Bonnie explains there is an anonymous source. Michaela wants to know if Annalise is guilty and Bonnie denies it. Oliver wants to know why Annalise lied then about knowing someone died in the fire and who was killed. Bonnie doesn’t know what they are talking about and Oliver starts freaking out thinking it is Connor. We cut to seeing Connor rolling around in bed with Thomas (Matthew Risch).
