Hunter Gomez – Politics and Passion

By  |

Q) What are some of the current projects you are working on?

A) I do various voice for the new season of “Family Guy” and just finished shooting a movie called Rocket Boy with Robert Picardo. I also just finished a teen talk show pilot called “On Set With Hunter Gomez.”

Q) You were recently in the movie National Treasure playing a young Nicholas Cage. What was it like working with such a talented actor?

A) Working with everybody on that movie was just so amazing. Being around so much talent, you learn so much. Everyone on that set brought something different to the table and I think it really made National Treasure just a really great family film.

Q) You have also done voice-over work for the hit show “Family Guy.” Do you prefer working in front of the screen or behind it?

A) I enjoy both. They are both very fun. The voice-over is probably a lot more relaxed, but you still have to be professional and know what you are doing. You always want to make sure you are giving your best performance, whether you are behind the camera or behind the microphone.

Q) Do you think starting a career at a young age is beneficial to an actor?

A) Absolutely! Acting not only helps you starting along at such a young age with things further down the line, but it also gives you many different skills for when you are not acting. It’s great for when you are doing an interview when you are older, acting skills always come in for job interviews and just really learning how to greet people. It really helps you in so many ways. I definitely think it is very important for school to get involved with plays. There are so many different beneficial factors when you start acting.

Q) You have traveled to the state Capital in Arizona to attend a news conference in support of bills 1346 & 1347. Can you tell us a bit about them?

A) What we were trying to get in Arizona was more production. What these different bills were for was to help bring more production companies to Arizona. I love to act and I think it would just be amazing if we got more production in Arizona because then I could do what I love here at home.

Q) Clearly, you are very involved in politics. What started your passion?

A) I have always loved it. There are so many different things about it that I really love. I am not really sure what started my interest, but probably at a young age watching Presidential debates and watching elections. It’s just so exciting to see which candidate would win. There are so many things about it that I enjoy. Any way I could ever help my government or my country, I am all for it. Politics is definitely something I’m very interested in.

Q) What do you do in your spare time
?

A) I really enjoy doing charity events and things like that where I can help other people. I love hanging out with my older brother, going to movies with friends and I love spending time with my family and animals. I’m a big animal lover.

Q) Is there a summer movie you’d love to check out?

A) I really am looking forward to Wedding Crashers, but I am not sure what it is rated so I have to check that out first.

Q) Do you have a latest obsession? Book? Movie? Show? Sport?

A) That would definitely have to be the Harry Potter books. I have not read all of the books in order, but while I was filming Rocket Boy our director gave me the whole set. I just haven’t been able to put them down; they are just so amazing!

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A) I would like to say thank you so much and I hope I can continue to do parts that you enjoy watching. I hope I never let them down and thank you for being so supportive. I really do appreciate it.
