Q) How would you describe your sound?

Will: I would describe our sound as rhythmic pop, but with influence from other genres.

Gabe: I would describe our sound as an upbeat mixture of pop, EDM and even a little R&B. We try to stay on top of trends and stay different.

Cole: Definitely pop, but with an edge to it.

Dana: Fun and rhythmic.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

Will: My number one musical influence of all time is The Beatles; however, I was very influenced by Motown growing up (Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye).

Gabe: Chris Brown is one of mine.

Cole: Justin Timberlake

Dana: Michael Jackson, Chris brown and Usher

Q) How did the group get their name?

Will: We were given the name by our creators: Simon Fuller, Jamie King and Perez Hilton.

Gabe: We were thinking up names and when we thought up IM5, there was just something about it! It represented unity and brotherhood and that’s what we would like to represent as a whole.

Cole: It was given to us by Simon, Jamie and Perez.

Dana: Jamie King thought of it while in the gym in Canada.

Q) Is it surreal seeing yourselves all over the Internet and in magazines?

Will: It is very weird seeing us all over the place; I used to read all of those teen magazines and now every once in a while seeing my face in one of them is a very surreal thing.

Gabe: It is definitely surreal. Sometimes I don’t believe it.

Cole: It’s always crazy seeing ourselves in magazines and on TV. It is just proof that we are living our dreams!

Dana: It’s surreal, but at the same time, I always had high expectations for myself and still do.

Q) What is it about your song “Touchdown Dance” that makes it a fan favorite?

Will: I think everyone loves “Touchdown Dance” because it’s a great song for crowd participation; it’s very fun watching everyone in the audience do the “Touchdown Dance” along with us.

Gabe: I think it’s due to the fact that it has it’s own dance. It’s a dance that everyone can easily learn and that makes it a physical interaction with the music and with us, which in turn creates a whole new experience for the fans!

Cole: I think it’s just the fun beat of the song, it’s so catchy and it gets the fans involved by doing the dance!

Dana: Well, it has a dance that goes with it, which is fun to do. The song is also really catchy.

Q) What can fans expect from a live IM5 concert?

Will: You can expect a lot of energy and a lot of versatility. We like to not only sing and dance, but also throw in an acoustic set with instruments and sometimes even sing acapella!

Gabe: They can expect lots of energy, lots of dancing, a ton of fan interaction and quite a few harmonies!

Cole: Fans can expect a lot of energy and just an all around good times at a concert.

Dana: They can expect acapella songs, dancing, body rolling, high energy and an overall good time!

Q) What can fans do to help promote your music?

Will: To promote us, you can go to http://www.im5band.com; there you have all of our social media links. I guess to promote us you can start by telling your friends about us!

Gabe: They can share our music with their friends and have their friends share it with theirs! They can also start trends and post videos!

Cole: To help promote our music fans can just keep posting our videos. Tell their friends at school about us, just anything to spread the word.

Dana: I think the best way to help spread our music is to tell friends and post our songs on all their social media sites!

Q) You all are a part of social networking sites. Why is it important for you to connect with fans that way?

Will: I think it’s important to connect with our fans through social media because they’re the ones running the show; I know that the opinion of our fans means a lot to us, so we like to keep their opinions in mind and social media is a great way to know exactly what they’re thinking.

Gabe: I love to communicate with the fans and I feel like it builds a real personal connection with the ones that support us the most!

Cole: Social media is defiantly important. You always have to keep the fans in what’s happening so they feel that special connection.

Dana: It’s important to connect because we want the fans to know who we really are.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of the band and your music?

Will: I would like to say thank you, first, and you can expect the unexpected from us!

Gabe: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Cole: Thank you so much to all of our fans, we do everything for you! We love you!

Dana: I want to thank the fans for all the support and for sticking by our side from day one. We wouldn’t be where we are without our devoted 5ers!! We love them!
