Jamie Kennedy – Blown Up

By  |

Q) What inspired you to venture into rap?

A) I was thinking that it was time for me to branch out. I always wanted to do a rap album. That was a good time to do it.

Q) How do you come up with your rhymes?

A) I just rap about things that I know and Stu, my partner, writes some with me. It’s whatever happens, whatever I can think about that I like.

Q) What is the best piece of advice you received from all of the artists that gave you feedback?

A) Be yourself. Don’t front. Respect the game. Know your history.

Q) Are some of the situations on your show “Blowin’ Up” staged or are they actual events?

A) They are real…Obviously, on camera we play things up, but it’s all real. We’re goin’ for it!

Q) What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced while trying to get signed?

A) I’m still trying to get signed! Getting signed is the biggest challenge!

Q) What was your favorite track to work on and why?

A) I think my favorite track would probably be “Bologna.” It has my alter ego on it, Blaine. He’s the best gay rapper.

Q) What is it about working with Stu Stone that seems to make the rap process flow?

A) Stu is highly annoying and highly irritating, but he knows how to make a hook. So, when I fight and get irritated with him it gets me all amped up and very excited so I want to get on the mic and spit about it. Then, he knows how to write a hook to make it catchy. I’m spitting all of this stuff and he makes it catchy.

Q) What made you want to chronicle your endeavors into the rap industry?

A) It was such a miserable time trying to get this deal and we were tired of people trying to understand what we were trying to do. We just thought it was a problem for us, but it may be entertaining for America.

Q) Do you have advice for others that wish to enter the music or rap industry?

A) Keep the beats hot, your flows tight and your hustle strong. Always…always, use a condom!

Q) Do you still plan on continuing your movie career?

A) Of course! How am I going to give that up? That’s my day job! It’s, actually, my night job!

Q) When can fans expect an album out from you?

A) Possibly…Possibly July 11, 2006. That might be a street date drop. Maybe. I don’t know. Could be. Hmm. Hint, hint.

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A) Thank you, because I do have a lot of fans and supporters out there that know what I’m trying to do, accept me for who I am and don’t try to make it too complicated. I appreciate the people that appreciate me and like to laugh. If you like to laugh then you like me. Big ups to you! Myspace me and I’ll add you as a friend!
