Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) I’ve been working on little things here and there, but my main focus at the moment is “Ride” and doing all kinds of fun interviews like this one.

Q) Please tell us the premise for “Ride” and about your character.

A) “Ride” is about Kit who moves to England with her dad because he gets a job teaching at Covington Academy, an elite equestrian boarding school. She’s really energetic, quirky and kind of plays by her own rules. So when she gets to Convington she suddenly has to deal with real rules and people who expect her to follow them. She feels really lost and out of place…until she meets TK, a wild horse. They instantly make a connection, even though Kit is really afraid of horses.

Q) Was there something you added to your role that wasn’t originally scripted for you?

A) The creators and writers did such a phenomenal job creating unique and wonderful characters that there wasn’t anything to add. Sometimes we adjusted sentences so it was easier for us to say or added slang here and there. The process was really collaborative, but the credit belongs to them.

Q) Where do you and your character connect, if at all?

A) We connect on lots of different levels. Kit is a really great combination of personalities. She’s a free spirit, but she’s determined. She’s a bit of a tomboy, but loves dressing up. I’m a big combination of personalities, too. We also both love chocolate and I’ve been told I’m just as stubborn as Kit is.

Q) How comfortable were you around horses before the series?

A) I was really comfortable around horses. I loved horses when I was young and was lucky enough to go to horse riding summer camp. But just because I was comfortable around horses definitely didn’t make me an expert. We were lucky enough to have experienced horse wranglers and trainers who helped us out along the way.

Q) As the season progresses, how might dynamics flip or switch?

A) Dynamics change a lot between friends and enemies on the show, just like in real life. People are complicated and can have lots of things going on and our characters are no different. Throughout the season secrets get revealed, friendships get betrayed, family members create problems for one another and people change their ways. And seeing how Kit and her friends deal with those things is what makes the show fun to watch.

Q) What are some memorable moments you are looking forward to fans seeing this season?

A) I’ll try my best to answer without spoiling anything. I’m really excited for fans to watch Kit and TK try to overcome their fears together. There is an epic sleepover I LOVED filming. I’m most excited to see how fans react to Kit’s attempts to unravel her family history. She and her friends start to uncover things later in the season.

Q) What makes the series such a perfect fit for Nickelodeon?

A) I think “Ride” is such a good fit for Nickelodeon because it’s so unique. Nickelodeon is so good at finding new and exciting things to bring to their viewers so I feel very lucky that they made “Ride” part of their family.

Q) What do you think it is about the show that will make it a quick fan favorite?

A) I think the best part about “Ride” is that it has something for everyone – boarding school shenanigans, horses, friendships, sporting and competition, mysteries, comedy, heartbreak and family dynamics. It’s something that not only kids can enjoy, but their parents, too. It also has a lot of real friendships; people will be able to relate to what our characters are going through. Also, did I mention, horses?!

Q) You are a part of social media. Are you looking forward to the instant fan feedback you will receive to episodes?

A) I am! I’m on Facebook (@kendraleightimmins), Twitter (@kendra_timmins) and Instagram (@kendraleightimmins). Social media has totally changed the game when it comes to interacting with fans. It’s made me feel so much closer to them, especially to fans around the world. The feedback from Canada, the UK and all the other countries where the show has already aired have been fantastic! So, I can’t wait to hear what people in the US think of the show.

Q) Is there anything else you want to be sure fans know about “Ride” and your character?

A) I want fans to know that “Ride” is going to be so much fun to watch! I hope that anyone who is need of a role model can find one in Kit. I hope she helps fans learn how to overcome their fears and realize how important it is to be themselves. She definitely helped me do those things.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I’d like to say that I am so, so grateful for them. Sometimes fans don’t know the impact they can have. The projects I’ve worked on and the roles I’ve played wouldn’t exist if no one was watching. I’d also ask them all to check out “Ride” if they haven’t already. I’m incredibly proud of this show so I hope fans love watching it as much as I loved making it
