Q. What are the current projects that you are working on?

A.  Well I just finished The Island that’s coming out with Ewan McGregor, Scarlett Johansson and Djimon Hounsou.  I am hoping that Gil Sherman is going to make a few more appearances this season on “Cold Case.”

Q.  Recently, you starred in the movie The Island, what can you tell us about the premise for the film and your character?

A.  It’s basically about a couple of drones who discover actually that the world isn’t what they thought it was.  My character is an ex-special forces agent along with a team of two other guys and computer technicians.  Together with Djimon Hounsou, we sort of try to sort of bring them back to their senses and bring them back.

Q.  What made you want to be a part of this project?

A.  Well, it’s a huge, huge special effects Michael Bay film which really intrigued me.  The actors on the project are just all fantastic, Ewan and Scarlett are such grounded hard working actors.  Although, I didn’t have a lot to do with them, Djimon Hounsou who sort of led my team is just someone that I’ve always wanted to work with.

Q.  What was it like for you getting to work with director Michael Bay?

A.  It was a fantastic experience, the guy has so much energy it’s unbelievable.  To take a project of this size, and I think all of his projects have been huge, and to break it down and make it work, is just to me an amazing art.  He just was a lot of fun to work with!

Q.  Do you have a most memorable moment from filming The Island?

A.  Well, I think that this is my first taste of a film that was this size and this magnitude.  So, I guess the most memorable moments were moments where we would wrap in one location in Detroit and fly out the next morning on a series of leer jets and end up in the middle of the desert doing another scene.  It was just a fast, fast paced, energetic shoot and I think that was really the most memorable part for me, just the energy and the fast paced nature of the way that this film worked.

Q.  Why should viewers take the time to check outThe Island?

A.  I think that the performances are stellar, you know everybody I think does a fantastic job and there are few people who have cameos that people will really enjoy.  I think that some unknown faces that people are going to really appreciate in the future, it’s just an amazing tale that’s really pertinent to our times.  There is all this talk about cloning now and what we’re going to do with it in the future, the movie actually takes places in the not so distant future.  So, I think that there is a wee bit of reality, even though it’s science fiction, there is a little bit of reality intertwined in there.

Q.  Are there any actors or actresses that you’d really like to work with in the future?

A.  Oh, so many, there are so many!  The two that come to mind right now are Anthony Hopkins and Johnny Depp.  I am trying to think of actresses that really intrigue me, of course Meryl Streep.  There are so many wonderfully talented people out there, I think that’s one of the fantastic things about this career is that you really never know who you are going to end up working with, or who you will end up working with again.

Q.  What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

A.  Well, I am a new dad, I have a twenty-one month old daughter.  I have a son on the way in September, so that takes up a lot of my time.  A passion of mine that I’ve really enjoyed over the past four or five years is doing a triathlon.  I actually do a triathlon for charity for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society every year, where we raise money for research for leukemia and lymphoma.  That pretty much takes up all my time right there!

Q.  You’ve done acting, producing and directing.  Is there anything else that you would like to try your hand at?

A.  I think I would really like to do a little more producing, I loving being on the other side of the camera because I think that it really enhances my capabilities being in front of the camera.  So, I think that I would probably like to do a bit more of that.
