Kira Kosarin – The Thundermans

Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) I’m in the middle of shooting season two of the Nickelodeon show “The Thundermans.” It’s been so much fun!

Q) What is new this season on “The Thundermans” and with your character Phoebe?

A) Phoebe gets a whole new look this season. It’s kind of bohemian with a lot of jewelry and some fun new hairstyles that I love. Phoebe also steps up her game and holds her own a bit more against her evil twin brother, Max, which I think is awesome. Girl power!

Q) What made you want to be a part of the show originally?

A) I have always been a huge Nickelodeon fan. So, I was super excited to get to be on the network. I’m kind of living my childhood dream, which is really amazing! I also found the show was really special when I auditioned. I auditioned for a few other shows in the same week and when my agent called and said I had a call back, the first thing I said was, “Please be for ‘The Thundermans!'”

Q) How are you similar to your character and how do you get into character?

A) We’re pretty similar. We have the same sarcastic, but still playful sense of humor. Plus, we are both pretty good with following rules and keeping with that “good girl” type (most of the time). Just getting into costume and being in front of the cameras really helps me feel like Phoebe.

Q) Have you added anything to Phoebe that wasn’t originally scripted for you?

A) A lot of Phoebe’s character definitely comes from me, as Kira. Phoebe has adapted a few key traits that I have. One in particular is really exciting, but it is a second season spoilers. So, you’ll just have to wait and watch to find out!

Q) What was one scene you noticed at the table read this season that you thought fans would really like?

A) Phoebe gets a couple of new crushes this season and one of them inspires a really fun plot line. But, again, you’re just gunna have to wait until it airs to find out!

Q) What have been some of your most memorable moments from filming?

A) For one episode, I got an insane mohawk hairdo. Everyone on the set wanted to get pictures – it was awesome!

Q) Who are some of upcoming guest stars fans will be getting to see on season two of “The Thundermans?”

A) I am not allowed to give out any names (spoiler alert), but they are really, really awesome (including a pop duo and a teen from one of the other Nickelodeon shows)! I can’t wait for everyone to see the couple of special guest star episodes.

Q) What is your favorite episode of “The Thundermans?”

A) The episode in the beginning of the first season, where I got covered in cheese and chocolate on picture day, will always hold a special place in my heart because it was the first time I was slimed! I always wanted to know what slime was like as a kid. So, that was really fun!

Q) What do you think it is about the show that makes it a great fit for Nickelodeon?

A) It is about kids who get to do something every kid has thought of at least once – be a superhero! There is also something for everyone. Between the kids, the teenage twins and the parents life with the Thundermans is always entertaining.

Q) You are a part of social media. Are you enjoying the instant fan feedback you get when episodes air?

A) It is absolutely amazing getting to interact with fans on social media. I really love to talk to the people who make the show possible by continuing to watch and support.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) THANK YOU! Fans are what make this possible. I am so grateful for each and every viewer, fan and follower of the show. I think I get more excited to meet fans than they are to meet me. So, I’d definitely say thank you, I love you and you’re the best!
