Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) I’ve been working on a lot of stuff recently. I’m continuing to travel and DJ around the world and I’m working on my original music, too. I also started a radio show/podcast called 7Sessions which you can find on iTunes and Soundcloud, as well as looking at some other acting work and getting ready for the second half of the year.

Q) It’s a brand new season of “Game of Thrones” and new things are coming to light each episode. In fact, we just learned Wylis. What can you tease (if anything) that we’ll also be learning about him in the coming episodes?

A) Obviously I can’t really tease anything!  I just think it’s a great season all around and that it’s nice to see a bit of Hodor’s back story, because until I read the script, anything I thought I knew was just conjecture.

Q) Why do you think Bran was so surprised to see that Hodor had a life before his catatonic state?

A) Firstly, I don’t think I would describe Hodor’s state as catatonic. He is able to perform his tasks and communicate in a small way, albeit limited. However, I think that Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) had known Hodor from around Winterfell, even before he was directly connected. When you have always seen someone a certain way, it’s always a shock to see them in a completely new light.  Bran probably assumed that Hodor was born that way.

Q) Fans have speculated that maybe Hodor is a warg and that he stayed too long in a vision, as Bran has been warned against. What are your thoughts on this theory?

A) I love to hear the fans theories.  Some have been pretty wild and “out there” over the years.  It’s a plausible theory…who knows?! [laughs]

Q) Bran and Hodor clearly have quite a tight bond. We didn’t get to see the two of you together last season. How do the two of you maintain such a tight bond when there are large gaps between filming?

A) Whenever I visit London, we nearly always try to meet up for a dinner or something similar.  It’s been a joy to watch Isaac grow to near adulthood.

Q) The cast is quite large. Is there someone on the show you’d most like to work with on the series in the future? (if you had your say)

A) I would have loved to have had the chance to work with Charles Dance (who played Tywinn Lannister).  He is one of my favorite actors and it would have been quite something to work with him.

Q) What have been some of your most memorable moments from filming the series?

A) There have been SO many. Sitting in a flimsy tent at 2am in the morning in a storm in 2 feet of mud springs to mind.  Or the scene when the Lannisters initially arrived in Winterfell and most of the original cast were actually all in one place together. That was a special day because normally we are so split up into our own parts of the world and work on separate units.

Q) What do you think it is about Hodor that has endeared him to so many fans?

A) I think he brings sometimes a little light relief in a heavy storyline and a little heart and warm to that frigid icy world we have been trudging through. Also, it’s the fact that he has a bit of mystery about him.

Q) You are a part of social media. Do you enjoy the instant fan feedback you receive from viewers?

A) I do like it.  I love to see people get so passionate about the show.  I used to be VERY involved in my social media, but now, whilst I still maintain my presence, I definitely have taken a step away.  It can consume your life if you let it.

Q) You are also a DJ. Have you ever considered remaking the “Game of Thrones” theme song?

A) I’ve heard various remakes, some official and some homemade.  I hate to say, but most don’t do it justice.  It’s a wonderful piece of music and unless I can find a way to make it REALLY great, I don’t think there is any point in putting anything sub par out there.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I frequently thank my fans, because I know that its ONLY because of them that I can continue doing what I love!  I’m eternally grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given.
