“JUST FOR KICKS” premieres on Nickelodeon on April 9 (7p.m. ET/PT)

Q) Please tell us about your character on the show “Just For Kicks.”

A) My character is Freddie Costello (her real name is Winifred, but they call her Freddie for short). She is, basically, the comic relief. She’s very clumsy and acts like a klutz, but she loves soccer. That’s her passion. She’s like a clumsy tomboy and she’s supposed to be the funny one on the show.

Q) What was it that made you want to be a part of the show?

A) I auditioned for the show and it was for the pilot episode. I ended up getting the first one and had to go back about seven times! It was such a long process, but after going through all of those auditions it really made me want to be a part of the show even more. Shooting it was the best experience of my life! I’d love to get a second season. I’m hoping and crossing my fingers!

Q) What is your most memorable moment from filming the show?

A) We were all coming from school (Jessica Williams, Katija Pevec, Francesca Catalano and I) and the crafts truck was right nearby. Katija and I started talking about the cereal Cap N’ Crunch. I told her that I never had it before so she suggested we try it. I got the cereal,  then opened the refrigerator and grabbed whatever I could find. I was so excited to eat it! I started and thought it was good, but kind of thick. Katija said it shouldn’t taste like that. After I finished eating and drank the milk out of it, I actually found out that it was Half & Half that I had poured in it! That was my most memorable moment because that’s the first time I ever ate a whole bowl of cereal with Half & Half in it!

My other memory is the fact that we so much fun! We had so much fun on the set and all of us can tell you that we had so many inside jokes! We were so close and it was such a great time! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Q) Why should viewers take the time to tune in to “Just For Kicks?”

A) I think it is because a lot of people can really relate to a lot of the issues we have on the show. The issues are really realistic. There is an episode where each one of us is having a problem that individuals can relate to, realistically. I have acne on my back and I know a lot of girls can relate to this. Jessica’s [Williams] issue was that she is too tall. I know a lot of girls in real life feel the same way. I just feel there are a lot of issues on the show that many people can relate to and that’s really good.

Q) In what ways, if any, do you resemble your character?

A) I resemble Freddie because I am clumsy klutz! I will trip on the floor and embarrass myself! It’s crazy! Also, I would blurt things out uncontrollably and have to apologize. Sometimes I don’t think before I speak. Plus, I was once a tomboy. I kind of grew out of it over the years and now my favorite color is pink (which is kind of a girly girl color). I used to chase the boys around and try and wrestle them! I grew out of it, but I can still relate to Freddie in some ways.

Q) The show centers on a group of girls playing soccer. What is it you like about the sport?

A) I love scoring those goals! I love trying to score them and I like doing head-buts. They hurt my forehead, but they are kind of fun to do. One time, we were shooting the show, and they kept throwing the ball at my forehead to do a take. They kept on repeating it and my forehead wound up red! I loved doing different techniques and tricks. I just love scoring goals. The feeling of accomplishment when you score a goal is unbelievable.

Q) What is it like working for the Nickelodeon Channel?

A) I love it! I love it because I love SpongeBob! Working for Nickelodeon is great because everyone is so nice. I think that, also, a lot of kids look up to people who are on Nickelodeon shows as role models. I am excited because I want to send a nice message saying that people should be themselves. Working at Nickelodeon has really taught me a lot about myself and how wonderful my life is. I was one in a million to be chosen for this show and I feel so blessed! I love working for Nick; it’s so great!

Q) What do you do in your spare time?

A) I love going on Myspace.com a lot. I am addicted to it! I don’t know why, but I just love it! I like checking for messages! I also like to sing and write music. I like to shop, of course, which is what every girl likes to do!

Q) What is your latest obsession? A book? A sport? A movie? A band?

A) Music is my number one obsession! I cannot live my life without music! I like R&B, but I also listen to rock. I love people that can really sing like Alicia Keys, Beyonce and Christina Aguilera. I also like Gwen Stefani and I can appreciate all kinds of artists and their music. I can listen to rock with bands like Green Day, The Used and My Chemical Romance. I also enjoy rap artists like Tupac and Ludacris. I just love all kinds of music. I think Gretchen Wilson is amazing! I can listen to a wide variety of music, but my main music genre is R&B since I sing it. I love all artists! I put out a demo and one of the songs is featured in one of our episodes. It features my song in the background and I really love it!

Q) Now that it is 2006, what are you most looking forward to this year?

A) I really hope to get a second season! I pray every night for a second season. I really wish that we could get one! I’d really love to do another season. I am also looking forward to driving. I want to be a good driver! I am graduating early in a few months so I am looking forward to that, as well. I’ve worked really hard for it. I accomplished a lot this past year and I hope to do more this year.
