Mirrah – R U The Girl

By  |

Q) Why did you decide to apply for the show?

A) I applied for the show because I grew up on TLC. When I found out it wasn’t to replace Left Eye, it was an opportunity to meet and learn the business from T & C. I said, “Mirrah, show them what you’re made of.” Plus it would be the best proof for myself that this biz wasmy calling.

Q) What was your audition like?

A) My audition was an overwhelming and a humbling experience; there were thousands of beautiful ladies who had the triple threat going on. I made sure I exited DOUBT from my spirit and did my Darn thang…:)

Q) What did you learn most about the music industry and yourself from being on the show?

A) I learned that the music industry isn’t a game. You need to be a career minded individual. Ego and pride need not to exist within ‘me’ as the entertainment biz is already made up of that. I felt each challenge given to me by these 14 year veterans was a lesson to become closer at what I aspire to be, an entertainer. I wish to become a voice for young & mature ladies.

Q) Would you have done anything differently?

A) I wouldn’t have done anything different, because it wouldn’t have been me.

Q) Why do you think you were not “The Girl”?

A) To be honest that was their choice, I can’t say why. It was well deserved to O’so, too. I feel they have now set the table for me and all I need to do is fill the plate with nutritious music and entertainment to feed the hungry masses.

Q) Who do you plan on keeping in touch with from the show?

A) I keep in touch with O’so, she’s my lil’ heart, my lil’ twin and she has a great youthful and mature attitude towards life. I also every now & then keep in touch with Meah & Arielle. I wish all the ladies from the house my best wishes.

Q) How did you come up with the song you performed at T-Boz’s birthday party?

A) The poem I wrote for T-boz and Chilli was a called “Evolution.” We, as women, (also T& C) are experiencing a big change in our life together. The chorus hook “Excepting change is a lesson in life. I’m the only one who can make it apply, beyond the fame. I keep my personal tight and always stay true to my name.” It was my heart felt expressions of what I felt each of us had experienced in the Atlanta house and what I will do, which is stay true to myself when I accomplish each goal in my career to come in this near future. I wrote key words in each paragraph of each challenge. Example: With “Breakaway,” the 1st song challenge and “Baby Luv,” which was the 2nd challenge, I wished to share a word play poem.

Q) What are you going to do now that you are no longer on the show?

A) The show has created a bunch of “opportunities” and my team and I are analyzing and sorting through each of them. I have done commercials previously and I’m open to other television and voice over opportunities.

Q) What was your favorite part of your experience?

A) The entire show was a great experience.

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A) Greetings Fans! Bless & thank you so much for your generous thoughts, prayers and appreciation of me being myself. The letters from positive fans internationally and from the US have been encouraging and overwhelming on my website www.mirrah.com. For those looking forward to my album,  my style is lyrically like a Common with more commercial hardcore beats, melodic singing hooks and bridges that creates a perfect blend. Please note, all students with star like qualities please finish school by graduating so then you may fall back with education if your creative side doesn’t work 🙂 Respect and Mad Love to Starry Constellation Magazine.
