After opening with a flashback where Terry Colby (Bruce Altman) and Phillip Price (Michael Cristofer) discuss a potential deal with China, the episode resumes where last week’s episode left off. Joanna Wellick (Stephanie Corneliussen) brings Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) to her home. She wants to know the whereabouts of her husband, Tyrell Wellick. Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) urges him not to tell her that he shot Tyrell and Elliot says he doesn’t know what happened. Joanna insists that he can be found because he’s been giving her gifts and called her previously. Elliot tries to leave, but is blocked by Mr. Sutherland (Jeremy Holm). Joanna asks him if he really wants to say no to her before leaving Elliot to contemplate the demand.

Back at Cisco’s apartment, Darlene Alderson (Carly Chaikin) and Cisco (Michael Drayer) argue over the beat up body of Vincent, an fsociety recruit Cisco found at Susan Jacobs’ house. Cisco wants to drop him off at the ER, but Darlene is worried that he will talk to the authorities about fsociety. Despite Cisco’s insistence that Vincent will die if they don’t do something, Darlene’s priority is to find Trenton and Mobley. Cisco gets angry at her and questions her ability to lead fsociety. Dominique DiPierro (Grace Gummer) talks to an investigator as the FBI searches Susan Jacobs’ house. The investigator informs her that the house is believed to be an fsociety meeting place and that Jacobs has gone missing.

As Elliot sits in the back of Mr. Sutherland’s car, he contemplates whether the five/nine hack was successful in changing the world. Elliot and Mr. Robot discuss Tyrell’s death and who is responsible for the calls to Joanna. Mr. Robot insists on going back to their old apartment to trace the calls and Elliot asks Mr. Sutherland to stop so that he can pick up some supplies. DiPierro shows her supervisor the sketch of Cisco from an eyewitness near Jacobs’ house compared to the photo from Ollie’s previous testimony. He wants to show the pictures to the media, but DiPierro is worried about retaliation from the Dark Army. However, he thinks the Dark Army is not a real threat and tells her that he will be putting out a media bulletin.

During Elliot and Mr. Robot’s hardware shopping, Joanna’s phone rings from the mysterious caller. Elliot answers it and there is heavy breathing on the other end before the mystery caller hangs up. Elliot is convinced that the caller is in the store and searches for him in the store. Unable to find the caller, Elliot wonders why Mr. Robot disappeared when he got the call. As they wait in the hospital, Cisco reads the Dark Army transcripts with Darlene. Cisco doesn’t know anything about Elliot’s involvement in The Dark Army’s Stage 2 plan.

Mr. Sutherland brings Elliot to his apartment and he starts setting up to track the phone calls. As he prepares the signal for the hack, Elliot gets a text that he ignores. At the hospital, Darlene describes an incident when she was a kid where she was abducted. Elliot begins to work on tracking the calls, printing out a sheet asking the NYPD to trace the call. Elliot gets another text saying they have to meet now. The driver starts talking about his past clients, much to Elliot’s annoyance. Instead of listening to him, Elliot asks the audience about his doubts about Mr. Robot. He wonders if Mr. Robot wanted to come back to the apartment because he was looking for something and asks the audience to help look around the apartment.

The nurse at the hospital asks for information on Vincent’s (Anthony Jennings) condition, but Darlene and Cisco lie and say they don’t know what happened to him. Elliot calls the NYPD impersonating a police officer, following up on the form he faxed. He uses the information provided to find the address of the caller. Mr. Sutherland recognizes the address and insists that there is no way the call is coming from that address. Meanwhile, the FBI break into Cisco’s apartment and search it. Cisco’s sketch is reported on the news and the nurse at the hospital recognizes him. Elliot gets another text asking him to meet while sitting at his apartment. At a nearby restaurant, Darlene and Cisco discuss the Dark Army. DiPierro questions the nurse about Cisco and she reveals that he was with a woman.

Angela Moss (Portia Doubleday) meets with Elliot on the subway. She asks Elliot why he started fsociety and tells him about her visit from DiPierro. After questioning the nurse again, DiPierro figures out that Cisco probably has no idea about the bulletin and that he probably isn’t too far away. Angela tells Elliot that she plans to confess about her involvement with the hack and warns Elliot that he will eventually be caught. Angela asks about Mr. Robot and warns him that Elliot can’t work with him since he’s not real. DiPierro does some investigating and finds that there is a restaurant nearby. Elliot and Angela hug and Elliot kisses her before walking away. After he leaves, Angela finds herself face to face with two people. DiPierro finds Darlene and Cisco and calls for backup before going inside to confront them. A man gets off a motorcycle and shoots up the restaurant. DiPierro shoots the man in the leg and he limps away before being shot by the police. DiPierro runs out unscathed, though shaken by the chaos as sirens blare from several vehicles pulling up to the restaurant.
