Next on Scorpion…

“Scorpion” Season Three didn’t end on a cliffhanger. Everything tied up nice and neat at the end so audiences would be satisfied if this were the series finale, which it most definitely was not. After Season Two’s final minutes (Happy’s already married?! But to whom? Walter is chasing Paige and Tim up to Tahoe?!) it’s a breath of relief. However; some questions still remain: What lies ahead for the team Scorpion? What is next season is going to bring? I don’t know. Anything could happen. Wonder with me…?

Season Three saw what a lot of viewers were becoming impatient for: Walter (Elyes Gabel) and Paige (Katharine McPhee) finally becoming a couple! After she spent more than half the season with Tim (Scott Porter), Paige and Walter finally confessed their feelings for each other. They kissed and slept together – the whole shebang! But this is still a brand new relationship. That was just the honeymoon phase. How will being a romantic couple change their relationship with each other and the whole team? How will Paige’s son, Ralph (Riley B. Smith), and his desire to have Walter as his dad affect their relationship? Also, how will Walter’s EQ fare after Paige told him to turn it off? Like he said at the end of the season finale, “I’m worried it might have dropped and stayed there.” What if it did and he has to start from ground zero, with Paige as his significant other by his side to help him raise it up again? What if?

Speaking of honeymoons, Happy (Jadyn Wong) and Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas) finally got married and went on theirs! Though it did not go the way they imagined, to say the least. Nothing ever goes as planned for this couple. Why do they even try? When Toby first proposed to Happy she said no, because she was already married to Walter. Walter and Happy got a quickie divorce so she could marry Toby, but only after Walter got his green card. On top of that, Happy and Toby thought she was pregnant, which heartbreakingly, turned out to be a false alarm. They really wanted that baby! They spent the rest of the season planning their wedding, which they missed because Happy was working on a case. What will go wrong for the newlyweds in season four, besides everything?

Season Three was a big one for Happy and Toby though, who came full circle! The first episode of the season saw Toby frustrated with Happy because she wasn’t being an open book, about her past and feelings, with him. By the end of the season, she was sharing all her secrets and emotions with him. One of their last exchanges of the season was Happy saying, “As we have discussed, I have a past” and Toby saying, “I know. I accept it.” The season also opened with Happy telling Toby that she loves him for the first time. In fact, by the end of the season she was saying it so much it was almost taken for granted. Happy being open with Toby about her emotions at all is under appreciated, when it took a long time getting here. Happy’s Christmas present for Toby just this year was a button that when he presses it she gives him affirmations, because she believes she can’t be enough for him in that department. By the end of the season, her wedding vows are wordier than his, which are just “I love you.” Over the year, they’ve also become a more affectionate couple. In the season finale, they kiss at least three times (the most of any episode ever) when earlier in the season it took praying to a deity for them to kiss without Happy pushing or slapping Toby away or it being on the forehead. These lovebirds now live together and will be spending the next few weeks christening their new home. After that, who knows what married life will bring for these newlyweds? Perhaps a baby in a baby carriage?

Season Four is as open-ended for those couples as it is for everyone else. Can the dad of the team, Cabe (Robert Patrick), and his girlfriend, Allie (Reiko Aylesworth), survive Season Four? They almost didn’t make it out of three alive! Professionally, Sly (Ari Stidham) is alderman of West Altadena, but what about his love life? Will Season Four see him finally move on from his late wife, Megan (Camille Guaty)? And, personally, Sly fell pretty far down the rabbit hole on that island. Will Season Four see him need help when he falls further, like Mark Collins (Joshua Leonard) did? What about little Ralph who is in episodes more and more as the series goes on? How will the brightest genius on Scorpion be involved in Season Four cases? Also, hopefully, some characters will return such as Ray (Kevin Weisman), Elia (Andy Buckley) and any of the parents! How is Happy’s dad (Jamie McShane) doing in jail and Paige’s mom (Lea Thompson) at playing dead? I can’t wait for her to find out Paige and Walter are finally a couple! I’m excited to see what the future holds for all these characters and those yet to be introduced!

Season Three saw “Scorpion” save the life of one of their own and take on their biggest challenge – surviving on a desert island. What cases will land on the geniuses’ desks in Season Four? What challenges would you like to see the team conquer when “Scorpion” picks back up in the fall? Until the show returns for Season Four on September 25, 2017, we impatiently wait for “Quintis” and “Waige” to come up for air, from consummating their new relationship statuses! Let all the steamy fan fictions begin!
