Q) How has your time with the show helped you grow as an individual?

A) I think that first and foremost I’m super grateful for the opportunities that I have gotten. Disney has given me a chance to really soak up all the knowledge I can from the industry. I love these sets that I have worked on and they are so welcoming. They make it feel like a home away from home. I’ll walk on the set and everyone is super friendly. You can walk on the set and talk to the camera operator. Then, all of a sudden, I’ll be learning how the camera operators work and how they do their jobs. With the directors, I’ll get to learn about directing. I’ve definitely learned a lot over the years and I’m very grateful.

Q) Would you want to try your hand at being behind the camera?

A) Absolutely! Being behind the camera is something I have been thinking about, especially in the last year. I’ve been thinking about the producing side. I got to work on a film where I got to see more behind the camera and see the camera operators do their thing. It was interesting for me to see how everything behind the camera works and it inspired me to get more active behind the camera.

Q) What are the recent projects that you have been working on?

A) I did the film Same Kind of Different As Me and it is for Paramount Pictures. I play the daughter of Renee Zellweger and Greg Kinnear. Djimon Hounsou and Jon Voight are also in the movie. It was directed by Michael Carney who is a phenomenal human being and such a great director. I’m really excited for the audience to see the film and for my fans to see me in a completely new light and atmosphere. I just finished that and I look forward to people see that. I’m working on my first album with Hollywood Records, which I’m really stoked about. Music has been something that has been a part of my life for so long that I am grateful for the opportunity to make something of it.

Q) How was working on the movie from working on TV?

A) The energy is very different, especially for the kind of film it was because it is a different genre. For my entire career I have been doing comedy so it was a very, very interesting experience for me. It was also good for me, especially being around such seasoned and talented actors. It is about bringing characters to life because it is based on a true story and that was also fun for me. I got to meet the person behind the character that I play. It was a really cool experience for me.

Q) Who were you hoping you had more scenes with?

A) I think I’d want scenes with everybody. It was such an amazing cast that I wish I had gotten more time to work with them. I had an opportunity to get to know them and they are all such down-to-Earth people. They are all unique and passionate about what they do. Michael was so passionate about bringing the characters to life and being creative. He was motivated to turn out something so beautiful. I wish I had gotten to work more with everyone and sit down with them for a chat.

Q) You are working on an album. When can we expect a lead single?

A) No official release date is set yet. I think we are really shooting for this year, maybe later in the year. I am definitely pushing to get new music out for sure.

Q) What kind of sound or inspiration are you drawing from?

A) There is definitely some soul behind it. I grew up in the south so there is definitely some southern influences to it. There are so many cool and unique elements that I wanted in my sound. I’m really happy with it.

Q) Can we expect you to be touring for your music?

A) I’m just trying to get the album out now. I’m still in the studio co-writing some of the songs and recording some of the songs.

Q) How do you balance doing both music and acting?

A) It’s definitely a challenging thing to do. It’s not easy and I can see how people struggle with balancing it all out because it is a lot, especially when we’re young and still having to have a childhood and make friends. You go through situations that are hard to deal with when you’re a working person. I try to do what is best for me. I also really try to have a positive outlook and think that everything happens for a reason. I think the majority of the time I try to have a positive attitude about things.

Q) “I Didn’t Do It” Season 2 is airing! What can you tease is in store for your character Lindy?

A) We’re really focusing on the characters and really digging deep into their feelings and where they want to be in the next few years. I feel like a lot of the things they are going through are what the majority of my generation is going through now. I think that’s a cool thing for the audience to see and relate to. They get to see who they are and they are there for each other. There are a lot of feels going on this season.

Q) Who are some of the guest stars we will be seeing?

A) So far, this season we have had a bunch of guest stars and some guest stars that will be recurring. We have Karen Malina White who is heavy recurring this season and is a hilarious and amazing woman. They will definitely draw some more drama and attention to the gang.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with fans?

A) I love it! I feel like it gives us a chance to understand how the fans feel about the situations that they are going through. It’s also fun because Rider has just gotten Twitter! Fans will be able to write to Rider. It’s great for us to get instant feedback. I feel like if we didn’t get that we wouldn’t know how we were doing and how the fans feel about it.

Q) What would you like to say your fans and supporters?

A) Thank you to everybody for all of their support with “I Didn’t Do It” and my music. I know they have been waiting so patiently for this, but I promise it will be worth it. I’m really excited to share it with everybody. Thank you and I love you all so much!
