Orlando Brown – Rave On

By  |

Q.  What are the current projects that you are working on?

A.  I’m working on my album, I just started my own entertainment company called Young Starr Entertainment.  So, right now I’m just focusing on my album and I have a couple of feature films, I can’t really speak about it right now.  Also, The Proud Family Movie is promoting, that’s going to come out, that’s really it right now.

Q.  “That’s So Raven” will be returning for a new season.  What can viewers expect to see next season?

A.  Well, you can see a lot of Raven doing her thing, she’s great at making everybody laugh.  She’s going to be doing a lot more comedy and action, not only her but me and Kyle (Massey) as well.  The guy that was just in my room just now, he plays Raven’s little brother, he is like a little brother in real life as well.  This week we have a scene where we fall down the stairs ‘cuz we’re chasing each other all over the house.  He has a jacket of mine that had an old ticket in it that had a raffle number in it that could get me a flat screen.  So, I’m chasing him all over ‘cuz I gave him the jacket thinking he was going to appreciate it for junior high, helping him out with his style.  He finds out that this ticket has the number to the flat screen, it’s crazy.  So, I end up chasing him for it, you can just expect a lot of comedy and action, all that stuff.

Q.  What is it about the show that you think has really hooked viewers?

A.  I don’t know actually, we all didn’t think the show would do as well, I think I speak for everybody.  I am a spiritual person, but I like to say you never know what God can do and that’s it!

Q.  On “That’s So Raven” Eddie and his friends seem to have great chemistry.  Is it that way off camera for you and the cast?

A.  Yeah, it is, we have a lot of fun, it’s like we’re a family.  We come in and it doesn’t even seem like work, we have a great director like Rich Correll who gets us in and out every day.  It’s just awesome, we work Monday through Friday, five days a week and it’s just awesome.

Q.  Do you have a most memorable moment from your time filming on “That’s So Raven”?

A.  When we were doing a show where this African prince comes to our school and gives Raven an invitation to like a ball or something like that.  So, they find out he’s a prince and next thing you know he’s like really, really surprised because we’re in the living room and Anneliese was reading the letter and she’s like, “oh, it’s a ball?”  She looked at Raven, and Raven was like, “yeah, it’s a ball!” and she forgot her line, Anneliese forgot her line and next thing she is looking at everybody like “it’s a ball!”  It was just hilarious, that’s just one of the bloopers we had, it’s awesome.

Q.  You have such great comedic timing, is it something that comes naturally to you or are you constantly working at it?

A.  Yeah, I mean, it’s something that always came natural and I think I can speak for everybody when I say it’s just natural, it’s something that we can do.  It’s a God given talent.

Q.  What originally made you want to be a part of “That’s So Raven”?

A.  It wasn’t me, I didn’t choose this, I just went to an audition to work.  Like I said, you never know what God can do, I just kept the faith and next thing you know they called me up and said you got a call back and then I got another call back, that’s how it normally works.  I am just humbled to the fact that even happened to me, that I was even chosen out of all the thousands all over the globe that auditioned or even thought about this role.  I am just grateful!

Q.  You mentioned working on an album, what kind of music can we expect to hear from you and when will the album be out?

A.  I’m doing R&B and my second album will probably be all rapping but I’m just thinking singing right now.  Singing right now is my love, that’s awesome to me and my album will probably be dropping some time next year.

Q.  What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

A.  In my spare time I just write music, like I’m writing a new song right now.  I love to write even if it is to other people’s instrumentals, I just kick back on the set and just write and chill with Kyle.  It’s just what we do, just chill together and hang out, I’m on a diet so you know I gotta watch what I eat, he keeps me on my toes.  I just bought my own house, I’m keeping up the maintenance and paying my bills.  I’m occupied right now and I’m very grateful.

Q.  Is there a summer movie that you’re really interested in checking out?

A.  Hustle and Flow because I know it’s a real story based on somebody’s life and I like true stories.

Q.  What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A.  Thank you so much!  If you believe then you will be able to succeed in anything that you are trying to do, most definitely.  Always keep God first in every single thing that you do and you will prevail no matter what greatly.
