“Pitch” ended its season with both its fate and Ginny’s career in limbo. On the verge of a no-hitter, Ginny Baker (Kylie Bunbury) is isolated from her teammates as per superstition. Thirty-six hours earlier, Ginny answers a knock at the door and finds Evelyn Sanders (Meagan Holder) on the other side. Pressing for details about the night before, Ginny reluctantly tells her about what happened with Lawson. Meanwhile, Ross (Josh Peck) tells Oscar Arguella (Mark Consuelos) that they need to shut down Ginny, showing him the Math he’s worked out about her innings limit.

Amelia Slater (Ali Larter) talks to Ginny about her interview with Rachel Patrick (Joanna Garcia Swisher) and tells her that she should capitalize on her fame with a memoir in the offseason. Though Ginny wants to rest during the offseason, Amelia insists that they go full speed ahead and strike while the iron is hot. As Ginny walks away, Evelyn tells Amelia that Will Baker (B.J. Britt) has taken money from the restaurant business to pay off someone. Evelyn doesn’t want to tell Ginny and Amelia offers to do it for her. Mike Lawson (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) walks into the locker room and the team is happy to see him. Blip Sanders (Mo McRae) is happy that he called off the trade, but Lawson admits that he wasn’t the one to call it off. He runs into Ginny outside and things are awkward between them. They agree not to talk about their almost-kiss.

Al Luongo (Dan Lauria) calls Lawson into his office and Oscar, Luongo and Buck Garland (Jack McGee) ask him his opinion about shutting Ginny down. Lawson insists that Ginny doesn’t need to be shut down. Blip comes in and offers his opinion that Ginny should be shut down due to his experience with her in the minors and insinuates that Lawson doesn’t care about the good of the team anymore. As Blip and Lawson argue in the locker room, Ginny comes over and Lawson tells her that she’s being shut down.

Ginny goes to Oscar and Charlie Graham (Kevin Connolly) and insists that she is good to go. Oscar and Ross argue in favor of shutting her down, but Ginny refuses to back down. Graham agrees to give her one more start. Amelia and Will try to console her by telling her that she has time to do other things and work on the restaurant, but Ginny calls them out for looking out for themselves. Amelia tells Will that she knows about the missing money. Will tries to lie his way out of it, but Amelia gives him an ultimatum: tell Ginny or she will.

Ginny does her interview with Rachel Patrick and she asks about her accomplishments compared to female athletes. Ginny would rather be compared to other rookie pitchers and hopes that her teammates see her as one of the guys more each day. As they finish their interview, they run into Mike. Unable to escape, he talks to both of them about the interview. Later, Ginny texts Noah (Tyler Hilton) asking to finish their date from the other night and Rachel tells Lawson that she and her fiancé split.

Lawson and Luongo share a beer and Lawson expresses his worry that he’s lost the support of the rest of the team. Luongo comforts him and tells him that he had a moment of weakness and that his heart is still in San Diego. With help from Eliot (Tim Jo), Ginny finds Noah performing at an open mic night. He is excited to see her and they resume their date. They talk about their journeys to success. Ginny realizes that she doesn’t want the night to end and kisses Noah before taking him back to her hotel room. Lawson goes to see Rachel at her hotel room and they spend the night together.

The morning after, Noah asks Ginny to go on vacation with him in the offseason. Despite coming on strong, Ginny says she’ll consider it. Lawson asks Rachel if he ruined things between her and her fiancé and she admits that it opened her eyes to whether she truly loved him. He tells her that he’ll leave a ticket to the game for her, but she says that it’s not a good idea. Lawson and Noah get into the elevator at the same time and have a tense ride where they refuse to look at each other.

Evelyn tells Blip about what’s going on with Will. To her surprise, Blip is relieved because it means that they can have another kid. She gets annoyed with him and tells him that she wants to be successful on her own and that he should be supportive like she’s been supportive of him. Will tells Ginny that Amelia has falsely accused him of stealing money from the restaurant. Ginny sees through his lie and Will confesses the truth. Ginny tells him that she’s out of the business and that he needs to find his own path.

The players in the locker room see the paparazzi pictures of Ginny kissing Noah and congratulate her on getting some. Lawson is less than enthused though and Ginny goes to talk to him. She apologizes for the photos and says that they need to talk about the other night. Lawson avoids the conversation and walks out of the room. Lawson tries to talk to Blip, but he avoids him. Amelia goes to check in on Ginny and she confronts Amelia about disregarding her wishes to stay out of Will’s business. Amelia insists that she was doing what was best for Ginny and they argue over Amelia’s role in her life. Ginny fires Amelia as her manager, despite Amelia’s warning that she will regret it.

Ginny takes the mound in her final start among the cheer of the crowds. Ginny is on a roll and takes a no-hitter into the 7th inning. A teammate strikes out and has a meltdown in the dugout. Lawson tries to talk to him, but Blip takes over insisting that Lawson has no authority over the team anymore. They shove each other and are pulled away from each other.

Oscar is worried about Ginny’s pitch count and calls Luongo and tells him to shut Ginny down. Ginny insists that she finish the game when Luongo comes over to her. She takes the mound for the 8th inning, despite Oscar’s objections. Ginny starts to break down and walks the batter. Lawson comes over and tries to motivate her and talk to her about the other night. Ginny insists that she doesn’t need a pep talk and that she doesn’t need anyone to save her. Ginny throws a strike and then Lawson catches the next foul ball. Lawson sees Rachel sitting in the crowd and smiles up at her. Ginny gets her second out of the inning by throwing the runner out. Ginny injures her arm in the play and is walked off the field. Amelia sees the news report of Ginny’s injury at the airport and decides to get on the plane instead of turning back. The team is devastated as Ginny is treated for her injury, her future in doubt.
