Interviews

Robert Hoffman – Shrooms

By  |

Q.  What are some of the recent projects that you’ve been working on?

A.  “CSI: Miami,” which will air November twenty-seventh and “Short Circuitz,” which is Nick Cannon’s new sketch show. Also, I am filming a movie called Paper Champion – and of course working on my videos for punchrobert.com.

Q.  What can you tell us about the premise of the film Shrooms and about your character?

A.  Shrooms is about six people who go to Ireland to try Mushrooms – when it all goes wrong. I play Bluto; a steroid using tough guy.

Q.  What made you want to be a part of this film?

A.  I thought the script was just cool all around. I liked how colorful all the characters were and I thought the horror elements had potential to be really crazy.

Q.  How has it been working with the director Paddy Breathnach?

A.  Paddy is one of the coolest directors I’ve worked with to date. Very humble and he and I communicated very well which is such a great thing to have.

Q.  Do you have a really memorable moment from your time filming?

A.  Everyday was something new. I’ll certainly remember being in the freezing cold in my boxers and nothing else for damn near every scene I did.  Also, making Urban Ninja II for my website was tons of fun.

Q.  You’ve worked on the show “Wild N’ Out,” are your comedic skills natural or are they something you are constantly working at?

A.  My comedic skills are not necessarily something I “work” at, but my head is just one constant comedy obsessed machine. I’m always writing down new jokes or ideas for skits. My friends inspire a lot of my comedy; I roll with a pretty wacky crew.

Q.  You’ve done directing, writing, dancing and acting, is there anything else you’d like to try your hand at?

A.  Yea, it is getting pretty frustrating, but I’ll be damned if I let anyone stop me from flying. Kidding – actually, yes, music. I have so much music in my head, I just need to set aside some time to learn some basics so I can start pumping it out.

Q.  What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

A.  Let’s see here, in my spare time, I’m either making a new video, watching other peoples Internet viral videos, or going out n DANCIN!

Q.  Do you have a latest obsession?  Are you into any particular music group, sport, book or activity?

A.  Music – I am completely obsessed with La Ritournelle by Sebastien Tellier. It’s the best song you’ll ever hear. Also, I am listening to “The Power of Now” on audio book; it’s everything everyone said it would be.

Q.  What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A.  Nothing makes me happier than making you laugh. Please tell a friend about punchrobert.com and with any luck, someday soon, we’ll really get this ball rolling and I’ll have a budget to do some really crazy videos.
