Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Our sound is just raw energy, you know? Super rhythmic…Hints of 80’s and gospel, but in our opinion it’s its own thing. We just want to make you feel something!

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Our music influences are whatever is moving us at the time. Right now, I’m listening to tons of Stevie Wonder. He’s a true gem.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Comeback Season.”

A) “Comeback Season” was inspired by truth. We just felt pretty beaten up by the album writing process and felt we lost touch with a few things. Everybody has been the underdog at one point and we were really feeling like that. Let’s face it…In 2017, in the music biz, if you’re not Beyoncé you’re the underdog.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) This song screams “BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.” I think in our current climate you need all the encouragement you can get. It’s simple and the most honest thing we’ve ever written and I think it shows.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) It’s different every time. The lyrics may come first, the music may come first or maybe it all comes together. There is no one way. Just give us a pen and something that makes noise and we can get started.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) We have a huge hand in the production of our music. Danny and I will start the track eighty percent of the time and take them really far. Some of the tracks on the record were completely done in house. As for the other tracks…shouts to Brian Kierulf and Alex Aldi. They did incredible production work on our album!

Q) What can fans expect from a live Secret Weapons performance?

A) Fans can expect a lot of sweat and a lot of emotion. We’re trying to leave it all on stage every single night. It’s the only way we know how to do it.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) So far, I don’t think we have a favorite place. People have shown us love everywhere. Some of the craziest shows were in the places we least expected. Salt Lake City has brought it every single time. St. Louis we played acoustic in the parking lot and that was a real treat for us.

Q) Your new album As the Setting Sun Comes Crashing Down on Me comes out shortly. How do you plan on celebrating the release?

A) I’m gonna buy a Corgi. Who knows? I’m going down with the ship baby! For real, we just want to play the songs live. That will be the celebration.

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from playing the album?

A) We want people to know us. We want people to go, “I get it! They are just like us and we are all in this crazy thing together!”

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) We would love to collaborate with Jack Antonoff or Bruno Mars. They are always trying to change the music landscape and that is so inspiring.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I’m listening to Stevie Wonder’s album Songs in the Key of Life. It’s so bad ass…Every song tells a story and his vocals are pure cream. It’s just really good.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Social media has been amazing because there is no wall between us and the people who care about what we are doing. You want to know what I had for lunch? Ask me. Want a personalized video on your birthday? You got it. We’re homies and that makes it so special.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) DanGer team we love you! The love and support from everyone keeps us strong and allows us to do what we do. Without you there is no us so…thank you <3
