Supergirl – Solitude

“I’m sorry, I have difficulty making conversation with men under 6 feet tall.”

Cat Grant’s (Calista Flockhart) particularly bad mood makes Kara’s life hell, yet again, as she struggles with her feelings over Hank’s confession and no longer working with the DEO. Alex (Chyler Leigh) struggles with this, too, desperate to let Kara (Melissa Benoist) in on the truth and confess to killing Astra.

At the office, Cat is heated and angry, even with her prized assistant Siobhan (Italia Ricci) and she’ll be damned if she doesn’t get her hands on a new, juicy story. After confronted with decision and a flash drive with the name of every user of their own cheaters anonymous website, Cat tells them to destroy it, not willing to give up her credibility.

Cat Grant may be a lot of things, but stupid is not one of them. Shortly after, National City is attacked, but in an unusual way. The city begins to face a cyber attack, starting at CatCo, where this mysterious person threatens “the Queen of all Media,” vowing that this begins the start of the end.

“What do they call you? The Peroxide Avenger?”

The attack begins and thrusts the city into madness and panic, as the cyber grid is overrun at ever corner. Cat puts “Toyman Jr.” (Jeremy Jordan) on the case and, with Kara, he begins to investigate before he himself is attacked. Indigo (the villain behind the attacks) travels through the internet, pixelizing and depixelizing wherever she pleases as long as there is an open connection.

As Supergirl tries to figure out her plan and what Indigo’s motives are, James (Mehcad Brooks) and Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan Tatum) deal with more relationship strife and try to chart their own path. Kara still refuses to let James disclose her secret identity, while Lucy’s jealousy over James and Supergirl continues to grow – as she’s stood up on a date because of this.

Back at CatCo, Winn and Siobhan start an interesting relationship. Both have clear daddy issues, as Siobhan spills about her father’s cheating habits and his platinum membership with one of the sites that encouraged it. They bond, but her guard is still up. She’s still afraid to show emotion, that is until she gives in and has a steamy make out session with Winn in the elevator.

“See you after the apocalypse.”

When Indigo’s (Laura Vandervoort) true mission is revealed, she has hacked the site only to get entry to one, high-ranked, military man with access to a nuclear sit., Kara and the DEO go after him separately, but end up working together to stop her. Indigo almost gets her wish: she unleashes a missile upon National City, prompting Kara to chase it down and desperately contact Hank (David Harewood) to disarm it. Kara works better at saving the world when she works with other people.

Saving the city, yet again, with the help of her team Supergirl goes back to finish her fight with Indigo. But how do you stop someone who travels through the internet? Leave it to Winn to upload a deadly virus into her, which separates her body and paralyzes her. But is this the last we’ve seen of her? I wouldn’t doubt her to attack again, as we see Non (Kara’s arch rival) with her body, who also has a romantic past with Indigo.

Meanwhile, Lucy and James’ relationship comes to a close after Kara tries to help and spills the beans. Not the Supergirl beans, the Kara beans. She talks about James’ father, whom he has never told Lucy about in all of their time together and Lucy finally understands what is happening: Kara is in love with James and James is in love with Kara.

Kara rejoins the DEO, only to have Alex finally confess to killing Astra (Laura Benanti) after seeing how she’s treating J’onn. Alex cries and pleads with her sister, saying, “I can’t lose you,” and sobs on her shoulder. As J’onn makes his exit, Kara grabs his hand and they share a silent apology, understanding why each followed the paths they did.

What’s next for Lucy Lane? What is Non’s (Chris Vance) final plan? How will Kara and James’ relationship be affected?

Tune in to CBS on March 15 at 8pm for an all new Supergirl!
