Tanja Reichert – With a Bang

Q.  What are the current projects that you are working on?
A. The most recent project that I worked on was “Desperate Housewives.”  I play Eva Longoria’s model friend from New York City who comes back to town for a party.  Before that I worked on the new Adam Sandler movie Click.  In that, I play one of the receptionists in the architectural firm that he works in.  Kiss Kiss Bang Bang comes out on the twenty-first of this month.  In that I play like a D-list actress trying to get ahead in the business.  Also, Bottoms Up, I’m not sure when it’s coming out, but it’s a movie with Paris Hilton and it’s kind of about the L.A.’s party scene and I play one of the party girls.
Q.  Recently you were in the movie Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.  What can you tell us about the premise of the film?
A.  I thought it was a thriller/comedy when I first read the script but I’ve been hearing it called an action film.  So, it’s kind of like an action/romance/comedy with a little bit of mystery thrown in.   It’s really well written.
Q.  How was getting to work with director Shane Black?
A.  So great, he’s such a cool guy.  It was a really awesome experience.
Q.  You also filmed an episode of “Desperate Housewives.”  What can you tell us about your character?
A.  She herself (Gabrielle) is just going through some personal dilemmas, she’s questioning is she a desperate housewife, what is she?  So, she invites some of her friends from New York City to just kind of prove to herself that she’s still on her game and that she’s not become one of them (a desperate house wife).  All of the rest of the characters and families and problems, she always felt like she was different from them.  So, I think that she’s trying to prove that she’s not becoming one of them, that she’s still a model; that she’s still in the fashion world.
Q.  You got to play opposite of Eva Longoria for the role.  What was it like getting to act alongside this talented actress?
A.  Fun! She’s really sweet and gorgeous.  It was the most fun I’ve had on a set in a long time.
Q.  Besides acting, what are some of your passions?
A.  I am really excited because snowboarding season is coming up and that’s what I love to do.  I couldn’t do it all summer, but I guess I could if I lived on the other side of the world.  I am really looking forward to that because the season opens up in a couple of weeks.
Q.  Why is it important for you to be physically active on a daily basis?
A.  Well, it’s always been a part of life.  I really enjoyed it and if I don’t work out for a couple of days I get kind of grumpy.  I definitely one of the passions in my life, I get that exhilarating feeling people get after they work out, I’m hooked on that, plus, I know it’s good for my health.
Q.  What is your latest obsession?  Are you into any particular book, sport, music group or activity?
A.  Well, I have kind of rediscovered Kate Bush, I think she’s really super talented and has an amazing voice.  She doesn’t conform to the norm and she has a new album coming out and I’m very excited to hear it.  That’s something that I’m looking forward to.

A.  Thank you for being there for me, all the heartfelt letters are very sweet, I definitely appreciate them.
