Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) Right now, I am doing radio promotion for my new single “Prettiest Girl in The Room.” It has me all over the place and in different time zones. It’s a lot of fun!

Q) As a musician, how would you describe your sound?

A) Fun, feisty, girl power. I usually describe it to people as, not as soft as Colbie Caillat, but not as hard as P!NK… I’m somewhere in the middle.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) I am a huge fan of P!NK. I love how all of her songs are full of so much honesty. Her songs are autobiographical and tell a story of what’s going on in her life. P!NK’s lyrics don’t always paint a rosy-picture, but they do continuously display strength and perseverance to get through the tough times. I really love that message. Plus, after I have listened to one of her songs I feel like, “Yeah. I feel like that sometimes, but P!NK just said it…. confessed it… and she prevailed. If she can do it, then so can I!” It is a message that still drives me today!

Q) What is it about your song “Prettiest Girl In The Room” that fans are connecting to?

A) I think what people will connect to is that we have all been in a situation where you think things are going your way and then they turn in the opposite direction. So what do you do? This song says it’s okay to be vulnerable and reach out to that person who’s got your back, whether it’s your sibling, parent, boyfriend or girlfriend and share with them your bad day. Having those people you can lean on doesn’t mean they will solve your problems, but it’s sure great to have those people in your life.

Q) The song recently broke the top 100 on Hot AC Charts. How does that make you feel?

A) Truly AMAZING! I am so thankful to all the stations playing the song. What’s really cool is I heard that Pat Monahan from Train who has a new show called “Train Tracks” on Sirius XM heard “PGITR” and really liked it. It was super exciting to hear it playing on Sirius XM The Pulse! Friends all over were texting me and giving me shout outs.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Oh wow! That is so hard! I’d love to work with Without A Doubt and P!NK. Kanye West and Eminem would also be a dream to collaborate with because of the way they string together lyrics. They are amazing and continuously blow my mind! And, of course, I would have loved the chance to work with the one and only Michael Jackson.

Q) You are also an actress starring in the prequel to KungFu Panda. How was Young Tigress originally described to you?

A) Angelina Jolie plays Tigress in the previous Kung Fu Panda Young Tigress is a lot like her, but she has not come into her own just yet. She is a little unsure of herself to start out. It was fun to use some of Angelina’s qualities as Tigress, but also what she sounded like ten years earlier. Young Tigress is not as confident as when she is older; it’s her journey where she builds herself up. She works really hard trying to impress Shifu who’s played by Dustin Hoffman. And let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to impress a Dustin Hoffman Shifu!

Q) The character in KungFu Panda is animated. Do you have a preference to voice work or being in front of the screen?

A) I love all of it. You are being creative with both, but in very different ways. The characters you play in animation are sometimes animals so you have to figure out a way to make it real. I love the energy on set and how everyone is focused on capturing the moments.

Q) You are on social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) I think it’s such a great way to connect with people. What I love the most is that I can write a song then connect with a fan that I have never met before and learn about their story.

Q) Where can fans go online to keep up with your music and share it with their friends?
