Q.  Besides working on The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl, are there any other projects that you are working on?

A.  Well, not really right now, I’m going to stuff and seeing what comes next in my career.

Q.  Can you tell us a bit about the movie The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl and your character Shark Boy?

A.  Shark Boy and Lava Girl is in 3D and it’s directed by Robert Rodriguez.  It’s about a ten year old named Max who is a daydreamer, kind of a nerd who gets picked on a lot.  He dreams about two superheroes, Shark Boy and Lava Girl, who go on a series of adventures with him on another planet to stop the planet from being destroyed by Mr. Electric who is played by George Lopez.

Q.  What was it like getting to work with funnyman George Lopez?

A.  That was cool, George Lopez is awesome, he’s fun.  Lots of times when he was shooting, we’d be going to school, but we had a couple of scenes with him and he was a lot of fun to work with.

Q.  How did you get involved in working on this project?

A.  My agent sent me on the audition and I just met with the casting director and I got a call back.  I met with Robert Rodriguez at his hotel down here, and after that they went throughout the whole country looking for Shark Boy and they came back to me and told me I booked it.

Q.  How was it working with director Robert Rodriguez?

A.  It was so fun working with Robert because he’s like a kid in a man’s body.  He plays video games on set, he’s a great director because he makes the picture in your mind because we shot the whole thing on a green screen.  So he would tell the whole scene and what’s going on and I’m so glad that Robert Rodriguez got to be my first director.

Q.  Was it difficult for you using the green screen?

A.  You have to have a great imagination and you have to know the scenes very well, you can’t just go into a day and say “oh, what are we doing today?”  You have to imagine what it looks like around you and Robert did a great job of making the picture in our minds so he helped us a lot.

Q.  Do you have a most memorable moment from filming Shark Boy and Lava Girl?

A.  We got to go on Robert’s boat and he brought us there and the wrap party was lots of fun, it was at this video game club.  Also, while we were shooting there were three scenes that involved food and getting dirty so those were my three favorite scenes.

Q.  What can you tell us about the pilot show “Which Way Is Up?”

A.  It’s a new TV series that’s coming out that’s from makers of “The Proud Family.”  I’m a series regular on that, it’s about people in a band, it’s not officially out yet.  They’re working on it and trying to sell it to companies and TV and film carnivals.

Q.  What’s your favorite project that you’ve gotten to work on so far?

A.  Definitely Shark Boy and Lava Girl!

Q.  How did you get involved in Extreme Martial Arts?

A.  My mom’s boss had two kids who did traditional martial arts and I started it because I looked up to them.  So, I started doing traditional martial arts and then I went to a tournament and we met my karate instructor Mike Chat, who was the blue power ranger.  He taught me all of the extreme martial arts stuff and I started doing it and I liked it a lot more.  I’m also sponsored by Century Fitness, Inc. and there is a clothing brand out and my team, Team XMA, that’s new, that’s cool.

Q.  Is there anything that you’d like to say to fans and supporters of your career?

A.  Well, I’d like to say thank you and always give 110% percent, you don’t know whose watching!
