Opening where we left off last week, we hear the voiceover of Nora telling the gang about the Cicada (Chris Klein). We see a younger Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) in 2032 at the Flash Museum. She says there was always a part of the museum that scared her and how that area of the museum was different. She says that the last thing his victims ever hear is that sound, but the real thing that makes him scary is that The Flash never catches him.

We’re back in the present and Nora has turned to the team to tell them that many have tried taking down Cicada, but none were successful – not even the heroes without powers. When Iris (Candice Patton) asks for more information on Cicada, Nora reveals that he’s early in the timeline. His villains are not the same as before either as Gridlock and Block are completely different victims. They’re all standing around trying to figure out what to do next. Joe (Jesse L. Martin) beeps in and they send Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) to go see what’s going on. Iris suggests they start trying to figure out what they an about Cicada, but Nora says she’s already got a plan.

When Ralph gets downtown a man is robbing a store with a special gun. Ralph shapeshifts into a pear and when the criminal gets close enough, he knocks him out.The hostages are happy for his victory, but they also laugh and video him.

Nora’s plan to catch Cicada is to contact another Harry Wells (Tom Cavanagh). She says that in the future she knows that they don’t do this, so this time they can try something new. Cisco (Carlos Valdes); however, disagrees and says that contacting this Wells will be unbeneficial. They call Herr Wells up and he appears in the speedroom. When he arrives, he immediately starts complimenting Barry (Grant Gustin), Nora and Iris. Cisco tells them not to take his compliments and says he’s putting on an act. He says that he can’t assist them with Cicada at the time because he’s occupied, but he has another friend, a master detective, who can help them. They get him there and he introduces him as Harrison Sherloque Wells (Tom Cavanagh). We then see Cicada looking at news pictures online featuring Vibe and Joe.

The gang is gathered around while Sherloque makes tea and they wait to hear how he’s going to capture Cicada. Cisco tries to get him to leave, but Sherloque shows his skills and points out how he’s been observed crying and has had a recent breakup. After Cisco leaves, Sherloque then proceeds to walk around and point out some things about Barry, Nora and Iris. To Iris’ and Barry’s dismay, he mentions that she may have had a tattoo from an ex-boyfriend removed, which prompts Iris to tell him to get back on topic. He also throws in a little bit about what he knows on Caitlin’s (Danielle Panabaker) dad situation. Ralph joins them and after a funny exchange of trying to pronounce Sherloque’s name between everyone, Ralph lets him know that he is also a detective. Barry, Iris, Nora and Sherloque leave to go find Cicada while Caitlin and Ralph decide to go visit her mom and confront her about her dad’s birth certificate.

Caitlin knows her mother forged the death certificate, but her mom denies it. Her mom says that Caitlin shouldn’t dig into anything. The Flash and XS head to the location where Cicada is apparently at while Sherloque and Iris guide them through the takedown. Sherloque says that David Hersch (Chris Webb) is the name of the man that they need, so Flash and XS head in but get caught in an explosive decoy. David tries to get away but they stop him before he can. While Joe is downstairs reading, he hears the noise of Cicada only to turn around and see him standing behind him.

Barry and Nora talk Hersch down to the precinct, but Barry isn’t too sure that they’ve got the right guy. Nora isn’t so skeptical and decides they should celebrate their victory. Cicada tells Joe that he wants to finish what he started and demands that he calls Vibe to the house. When Joe refuses, he pulls his glowing dagger out as a threat.

Caitlin and Ralph decide to break into her mother’s lab. After Ralph painfully tries to unlock the door using his abilities, Caitlin finally gets the code right to unlock the door. They find her father’s file with a goodbye letter inside.

The party has just begun, but Barry walks in to tell everyone that they caught the wrong man. Sherloque reveals that it’s always Hersch when they catch him and Cisco comes to the conclusion that Sherloque’s made this plan up every single time. He’s done this many times before. He says that there isn’t a reason for things to have changed, but Iris points out that there is one reason this time. Nora came back in time, so the timeline has changed some things. Nora says they should still get Hersch, but he isn’t a meta so they can’t. Nora is adamant about it though and when she tries to go get him anyway, Barry stops her and tells her she can sit this one out if she can’t see where they went wrong. Instead of calming down, she zooms off. Iris just hopes they’re not too late to save Cicada’s next victim.

Cicada still has Joe held captive. He tells Joe how beautiful his family is but not giving him what he wants is gambling his future with them. Joe still refuses and that prompts Cicada to start inflicting pain on him with his powers from his dagger.

Barry and Iris are outside on the balcony discussing Nora. Barry is confused as to why Nora is so obsessed with figuring everything out so quickly. Iris makes him aware that Nora feels like all of this is happening because she decided to come back in time. The effects of the timeline are causing bigger issues than she thought. Nora’s feeling guilty because this created so many problems and all she really wanted to do was come back and spend time with her father that she didn’t know. Nora calls them down to the pipeline and they see ashes and Sherloque’s hat on the ground – assuming him to be dead. Cisco calls “Shenanigans” on this, explaining how the whole pipeline would have exploded. Barry flashes to find Sherloque and they see that he was trying to escape without paying them back the money that he owes them. Iris and Cisco take him out of the pipeline.

Nora confesses to her dad that she thought for a second that she caused Sherloque to get killed. Barry tells her that he understands how she’s feeling. He tells her that she can’t be impatient and rush to fix everything as soon as she gets word of it. She has to think before she acts.

Ralph apologizes to Caitlin for leading her to a dead end with her father and failing at yet another mission. Caitlin tell him that him pushing her it let her to some closer she didn’t have before. Caitlin reveals that her mom’s passcode was her birthday.

Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) senses something in the house while sleeping and comes downstairs to see Cicada and Joe. Cicada says that Joe has experienced pain before, but not more than him and that he didn’t want to do this to a family man. Cecile alerts the team from her phone. When Jenna starts to cry Cicada turns to see her, but Cisco shows up before he can do anything to her. He tackles Cisco through his own breach just a Barry shows up at the house.

Iris tries to reach Cisco through the breach and Cisco tells them that he’s in a forest somewhere. Cicada is dampening his powers so he can’t breach out. Sherloque tries to get his location and they figure out where exactly he’s located. Barry arrives but Cicada dampens his powers as well. Nora takes a moment to think of a way to help them and with Iris’ trust in her she speeds off to execute her plan. She tosses Vibe a device and when he throws it at Cicada, he hits it with his dagger causing it to explode. This gives Cisco a chance to escape into a breach and leave behind some of his suit in order to make it appear that he is dead. Cicada takes this as a win and leaves. Cisco comes back through a breach and Nora tells Barry that she decided to give Cicada what he wanted because she knew he wouldn’t give up until Vibe was dead.

Since they can’t catch him with their powers, they try to figure out a way stop Cicada. The only difference now is that they have Nora to help them capture him. Sherloque is staying so that he can pay them back all of his money. Barry suggests that he, Nora and Iris go out for a family dinner and Iris says that now they can get Nora moved into the loft. With some resistance, Nora decides to accept her offer. Barry hopes that this will be the thing that helps bring Iris closer to Nora.

Declining an offer to go out for drinks, Caitlin stays back to go through more of her father’s things. She realizes that this might mean something and finds a hidden message that says, “Caitlin come find me.”

Iris goes to Joe’s to get some more information about Cicada from her father. He tells her about his behavior while he was at the house and suggests that maybe Cicada is a father.

We see Cicada at the hospital as a doctor greets him as Orlin. He looks to be meeting his daughter who is hospitalized. The doctor asks to see “it” and he pulls his shirt back to show a glowing veiny cut on his shoulder. She tells him to stop but he says he can’t until he’s finished.

Nora goes into the lounge to find her purse, but Sherloque tells her it’s not there but in the vortex. Sherloque starts to question her about her actions and why she decided to help with the explosion. As she turns to walk away, Nora wears an uneasy and worried look while Sherloque looks at her suspiciously.
