Episode nine starts off with Chip (Thomas Barbusca), Ben (Jack Stanton) and Chip’s friend Andrew (Kia Scott) playing video games in the living room, which has been completely trashed.  Mackenzie (Kaitlin Olson) walks in and steps on a burrito.  Mackenzie is stressed out, but will get back to cleaning the place when the pre-recorded game they have is over.  Jimmy  (Scott MacArthur) walks in and gets ready to watch the game, but Mackenzie says she needs her lucky shirt. She searches and searches, but can’t find it until Sabrina (Sofia Black-D’Elia) walks in wearing it saying it’s her costume for a “white trash party” she’s going to.  Mackenzie is pissed that Sabrina stole her shirt and threatens to steal her clothes, but Sabrina points out she probably couldn’t fit into them.  Mackenzie kicks the kids out so her Alba (Carla Jimenez) and Jimmy can watch the game.  Mackenzie’s team loses, but her mind is pre occupied. She tells Alba that she is shocked how the kids treat her.  Mackenzie goes to Ben and attempts to save what little respect he has for her.

Up in Ben’s room he is playing with an ant farm when Mackenzie walks in.  Mackenzie looks at the ant farm and tries to explain to Ben that she is like the queen ant and that the other kids including Ben are like worker ants. That means they need to help and work when the queen ant (Mackenzie) asks them to.  Just then Chip and Sabrina come into the room and demand that they need to use Ben.  Chip says that they need Ben to get the box of poor stuff from the attic and Ben is the only one who can fit in there.  Sabrina says that Ben can choose whom he wants to go with and that he needs to help his sister out.  For a bit Ben is conflicted if he should stay with Mackenzie or go with his siblings.  Ben eventually chooses to go with Chip and Sabrina.

Later that day Alba and Mackenzie are eating ice cream in the kitchen talking about how Ben is slowly slipping away from them.  Alba suggests just dropping the hammer and laying down the law.  All three kids come into the kitchen and are about to head out to school when Mackenzie punishes them by saying they can’t go to school.  They seem a tad confused, but eventually go along with it happily.  The kids go to the living room and start to watch TV.  Mackenzie turns it off and says that they’re grounded.  Without any care the kids all take out their phones and Ben takes out a doll.  Mackenzie tries to take their phones away, but without success.  So, she says the kids can’t leave the house until the entire place is clean.  Somehow that leads to Mackenzie and Alba tearing the place apart and making an even bigger mess for the kids to eventually clean.  A few hours later and the kids are all still on their phones when Mackenzie walks in saying she finally has leverage on them.  She pulls out her flip phone and calls the person in charge of the party that Chip and Sabrina were going to go to.   Mackenzie says she about to get it canceled which gets Chip and Sabrina attention pretty fast. They agree that they’ll clean up the house while Mackenzie and Alba are out having a beer or six.

Mackenzie and Alba come back later that night to a surprisingly spotless house.  The kids are still cleaning a bit and Mackenzie and Alba head out to her room to watch the game.  When they get to Mackenzie’s room they find it is full of all the trash that was downstairs before they left.  Mackenzie’s pissed and she turns around to head downstairs when the door closes and the door knobs fall off. Her and Alba are trapped.  Sabrina, Chip and Ben all run to Jimmy’s car when Mackenzie sees them from the second story balcony and yells for them to come back.  Jimmy starts to drive away, but not before Mackenzie jumps on to the front of the car.  Jimmy screams and hits his breaks and watches Mackenzie roll off the hood onto the street.  Everyone watches as Mackenzie gets up and Chip exclaims that she’s invincible!  But Jimmy continues to drive the kids to the party.

That night at the white trash party Chip and Andrew are talking to a cute girl who seems to be interested in them.  Andrew tells the girl they’re in 8th grade and she says that Chip looks older.  She asks if they want to go out and find a quite place where all three of them can “talk.”  Chip and Andrew are both shocked they step off to the side to talk. Andrew and Chip agree no kissing each other and decide to go along with the cute girl.  At the same party Mackenzie and Alba walk up the front lawn and into the house, everyone is staring at them.  Mackenzie has road burn all over her face.  Mackenzie and Alba spilt up in the house and start looking for their kids.  Mackenzie first finds Jimmy chugging beer on a chair. She kicks a leg off and Jimmy falls and cuts his hands on broken glass.  Mackenzie steps on his hands and asks him where the kids are, but he swears he doesn’t know.  Mackenzie leaves him and continues her hunt.

Chip and Andrew are in a bathroom sitting in a bathtub when Mackenzie kicks the door open.  She walks over to them and Chip says it’s not what it looks like.  Mackenzie says it’s time to go so Chip hoops out of the bath and leaves.  Mackenzie finds Sabrina and asks where Ben is. She points to Ben who is now dancing on a table.  Mackenzie tells Ben to get off the table, but Ben says, “No, screw you!” Mackenzie grabs him and yanks him off the table. She starts to spank him.  Everyone around stops and stares at what is going on.  Mackenzie realizes she probably went too far.

Back at the Pemberton mansion Mackenzie has sat everyone down in the living room.  She tries talking to them, but they don’t answer back.  Chip finally speaks up and says they’re mad because Mackenzie publicly flogged Ben.  Mackenzie says that she deserves a sorry from them, but none of them want to say it.  Mackenzie says that she’s sorry for what happened and that she’ll take them out for dinner.  Ben agrees only if they can get French fries.

Mackenzie and the kids are in her car later that evening.  She pulls over and says “we’re here.” They all exit the car when Mackenzie walks over and takes their phones. She says that they need a little time to think about what they did and that they can use the walk home to do that.  Mackenzie gets in the car and drives off, but not before driving through some water and splashing everyone.  The kids are in disbelief.

The next morning Mackenzie is in the kitchen nervously checking her phone when Chip, Sabrina and Ben walk in the front door.  They each walk by Mackenzie and grab a vacuum and a broom to go clean.  Ben stops in front of Mackenzie and holds his arms out. Mackenzie bends down and gives him a hug.  She lets him go and turns him around to face a broom. He grabs it and starts to clean.
