Janet (Victoria Justice) and Brad (Ryan McCartan) are at a friend’s wedding and her catching the bride’s bouquet inspires him to propose in the cemetery. Cue the track, “Dammit, Janet.” A criminologist (Tim Curry) begins his narration of the night when Janet and Brad go to see their old professor. They end up with a flat tire in the rain and have no idea where to find help, but decide to go look together singing “There’s a Light (Over at the Frankenstein Place).”

They stumble upon a castle and meet a group of strange people, starting with Riff- Raff (Reeve Carney), Magenta (Christina Milian) and Columbia (Annaleigh Ashford) through the song “The Time Warp.” Brad doesn’t want to leave until they find a phone and that’s how they meet Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Laverne Cox) singing “Sweet Transvestite” and invites them to stay for the night.

Janet and Brad get stripped down of their wet clothes and then taken to Frank’s laboratory that’s usually kept a secret. Frank announces that he found a breakthrough in his search for the secret of life. He brings Rocky (Staz Nair) to life, a creation of his as they sing “The Sword of Damocles.” Everyone in the castle starts to celebrate Frank’s greatest creation being alive and well.

Frank explains that there is a plan to make Rocky a man in seven days and sings “I Can Make You a Man.” They are interrupted when Eddie (Adam Lambert) drives into the castle on his motorcycle and gets everyone singing along with him “Hot Patootie – Bless My Soul.” He starts to seduce Columbia and even wins over Rocky with his song.

It’s when Rocky takes part in Eddie’s performance that Frank gets mad and kills Eddie (“I Can Make You a Man” is reprised). He chases him, killing him and has his body fall out of the castle. Frank explains that it had to be done, not really expressing any remorse, leaving with Rocky downstairs.

During the night Janet wakes up to someone she thinks is Brad, but actually appears to be Frank. Janet gets seduced by Frank, after making sure that Brad won’t find out. Meanwhile Riff-Raff and Magenta go find Rocky and release him from his chains into the woods.

Frank visits Brad as Janet and seduces him, too. Brad asks Frank not tell Janet, but they are interrupted when Riff-Raff tells Frank that Rocky has gone missing. Janet goes in search of Brad and sees him in bed with Frank from the television. She then finds a hurt Rocky in the laboratory, patching him up singing “Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch Me.” They end up having sex while Magenta and Columbia watch from their own monitor.

Frank returns to the laboratory in search for Rocky, but notices that the professor Brad was looking for ended up in the castle. Dr. Scott (Ben Vereen) is brought to Frank by Riff-Raff and he explains that he is looking for his nephew Eddie. Frank doesn’t exactly trust Dr. Scott, believing that he is researching UFOs. They are interrupted by Rocky and Janet fooling around in his tank, with Brad shocked and Frank upset. But before anyone can really react, Magenta announces that dinner is ready. The criminologist explains that the dinner is meant to mirror the last supper and he foreshadows that things won’t exactly go well.

The dinner is awkward for everyone and it’s only made worse when they realize that they are wearing the remains of dead Eddie (singing out track “Eddie”). Janet runs towards Rocky, but Frank stops her, chasing and slapping her throughout the castle in a jealous rage belting “Planet Schmanet Janet (Wise Up Janet Weiss).” Janet, Brad, Dr. Scott and Rocky all end up trapped in Frank’s laboratory and one by one are frozen in place.

Columbia says that she’s had enough of Frank’s ways, forcing him to choose between Columbia and Rocky. Frank chooses Rocky, but he goes to Janet and gets frozen as well. Frank unfreezes Columbia, Rocky, Janet and Brad. They then perform a live show right after with the audience in the theater watching as they shift into new songs and places (“Rose Tint My World,” “Fanfare/Don’t Dream It, Be It” and “Wild and Untamed Thing”).

Riff-Raff and Magenta appear, telling Frank that they plan to send him back to Transylvania, their home planet that they all want to return to (singing out “I’m Going Home”). It turns out that Riff-Raff and Magenta are the only ones who plan to return to their planet. They are disappointed in Frank, saying he failed based on what happened that night and how little he cared. They want to leave Frank there, killing Columbia, Frank and Rocky.

Riff-Raff tells Dr. Scott to leave while he still can, apologizing for the death of his nephew. Brad and Janet leave as well. Riff-Raff and Magenta leave Earth with the castle falling apart once they lift off, but then it disappears along with them. Brad. Dr. Scott and Janet are left alone outside, trying to process what happened. The film closes as they sing “Super Heroes.”
