What? Slutty Book Club

Who? Created by and starring, Nikki Saltz and Sara Starkman

Why Should I Watch? Let me preface this by saying that this is by no means suitable for work and that alone is why you should watch!

Slutty Book Club is the brainchild of comedians Nikki Saltz and Sara Starkman. The hilarious duo take on literary works of all sorts as they provide truthful and unfiltered commentary.

The first three episodes cover William Golding’s literary classic The Lord of the Flies, Kim Kardashian’s book Selfie, and 15 Minute Meals by Jamie Oliver. What I love the most about the series is the way each episode is planned out. Each episode is split into different categories such as: Nikki & Sara Go on an Adventure, Bookmark, In or Out and more!

The first episode is still very much my favorite not because I actually enjoyed The Lord of the Flies in high school, but because Nikki and Sara explore themes in the novel that aren’t normally discussed. My favorite discussion was their dissection of the novel had this been girls in lieu of boys. So, while the commentary can be very sarcastic, comedic and sometimes dark, there is still some truth behind it that is still relevant in our own society.

So if you like books and you’re looking for a real, no bullshit series, I strong urge you to check out this series! You’ll laugh, you’ll cry from laughing and maybe even fart a little. Who’s to say? Just check it out for yourself!
