1. Chris Bauer was born Mark Christopher Bauer

2. He attended Yale School of Drama

3. He is not related to former “True Blood” costar Kristin Bauer (despite sharing the same last name)

4. His first feature film role was in Snow White opposite Sigourney Weaver

5. He has played three different characters on “Law & Order”

6. For “The Wire,” he wore a fat suit to give Frank Sobotka sufficient girth

 

 

 

7. James Ransone, who played his son on “The Wire” is one of his best friends

8. Look away for a minute while watching High Fidelity and you might miss seeing him in a scene with Joan Cusack

9. He kept a menu from Bellefleur’s Restaurant and his set chair from his time on “True Blood”

10. Some scenes of Season 2 of “True Blood” were shot close to where Chris grew up in Southern California

11. So close in fact, they filmed across the street from the church where he had his first communion.

 

 

12. As a child, he wanted to be a marine biologist

13. Bauer used to be a Giants fan, but converted to the Jets for his son

15. Because the stunt work for the movie Face/Off was so heavy, they had to match Chris’ appearance to that of his stunt double – instead of the other way around. Therefore, he had to wear a wig for the role.

16. Bauer made his Broadway debut as “Mitch” in A Streetcar Named Desire opposite the late Natasha Richardson.

 

 

17. Did not audition for his role on “True Blood.” He was chosen after a short conversation with creator Alan Ball

18. Chris met his wife [costume designer] Laura, while working on the play A Clockwork Orange

19. He’s currently starring on two shows “Survivor’s Remorse” and “American Crime Story: The People v OJ Simpson”
